1940

In 1940, Farmer and Teacher were the top reported jobs for men and women in the USA named Carnes.

1958

Originally, Carnes Brothers, Inc. was incorporated in 1958, by Tom and Grover Carnes, and later joined by brother Pete.

1962

Carnes Brothers, Inc. was first put on the map upon completion of the Atlanta Merchandise Mart in 1962.

1982

Mark C. Carnes, Professor of History, joined the Barnard faculty in 1982.

1989

Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates was founded by Richard Hillis, P.E. and William Carnes, P.E., in 1989.
