Position Overview The Tunnel Machine Operator is responsible for using the PFAFF Tunnel Machine to sew soft shades according to work tickets. The role requires sewing experience, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions. Operators must work safely, handle materials, and keep their work area clean and organized. What you'll do Receive soft shades from Tunnel Preparation for processing. Read and interpret work tickets for special instructions, including shade type and custom requirements. Check the straightness and alignment of each soft shade before beginning sewing. Operate the Pfaff Tunnel Machine to sew soft shades according to specifications. Use tape measures and tools to ensure accuracy in measurements and placement. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all safety and housekeeping protocols. Report any equipment issues, material defects, or safety concerns to the supervisor promptly. Perform other duties as assigned to support production needs and workflow. Ensure all tickets are pinned correctly so they do not stick any * Be aware of the platforms in the department. Injury may occur if you trip or step on the platforms. * Be careful of inspection machines. The machines move up and down constantly. Be careful when walking near the machine when it is lifting or lowering, a possible head injury could occur if you are not paying close attention to what you are doing. * Use safety glasses whenever you are using the staple guns or saws in the department. * Ensure all equipment and tools are put in their designated spot before you leave. * Always unplug irons and drills each day before leaving to go home. * Ask for assistance before lifting heavy fabric. * Keep your area neat and clean at all times. Make sure no objects are left of the floor or in any work area. Housekeeping is done daily 10 minutes before the end of the shift. * Put trash in the proper area for pick up each day. * Be aware of the Emergency Evacuation Route for your department. Be sure you know where to go in case of an emergency. * Please report any unsafe conditions you may see in any area of Carole Fabrics to your supervisor. Position Overview Pleater 1 marks pleats on drapery panel at pleat marking table and punches holes for metal grommets. What you'll do * Pleat Marking Table * Remove drapery from rack carefully, and place on pleat marker table * Read work ticket for special instructions and sign work ticket * Check work ticket for width, special returns, and special instructions * Subtract returns and overlaps from widths of drapery, look in pleat mark book for reading and correct number of mark drapery, any drapery with more than 10 panels had to work out to correct number to mark drapery. * Spread drapery out on table, clamp down with holders on each side of drapery, set returns, adjust seams, and mark drapery for pleat with invisible chalk. Can only pleat 4 panels at a time, this is repeatedly done until all panels are marked according to work ticket. * Seam fold each drapery and place on finish rack by date card numbers on corresponding work ticket * Any defectiveness of drapery and any questions about drapery should be reported to supervisor, or placed on a hold rack in a designated area to be checked by supervisor * Drapery should be correct by pleat marker before releasing to the step for operation.
