Carolina Cool company history timeline

1988

Since this first report of a life-sized lizard man in 1988, many others have come forward with similar stories about a humanoid creature destroying their vehicles or belongings.

1989

On September 21, 1989, Hurricane Hugo struck the coast, causing great damage to homes, businesses, and natural areas, but the state has made a remarkable recovery in the ensuing years.

1994

In 1994, the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians Tribal Council and the State of North Carolina reached an agreement to establish a casino in Cherokee.

1997

To close out the 20th century, the Cape Hatteras Light Station (including its lighthouse) was moved in 1999 due to shoreline erosion. It opened in 1997 and today, is known as Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort.

2003

In fact, the Yadkin Valley was the first federally recognized American Viticural Area in 2003.
