1957-60 Lancaster Stone establishes a crushing plant and two hot mix asphalt plants on site at the Barton Road Quarry.
Under the leadership of Bryan Pfohl, second generation, the company expanded into North Carolina in 1985 and has continued steady growth in North Carolina ever since.
In the spring of 2012 longtime customer Barrett, Irvin and Jordan joined Sunrock LLC as its Contracting Division, focusing on public works, asphalt paving, resurfacing projects, and heavy highway reconstruction.
In August 2015, Sunrock started producing from its fifth asphalt plant, which is located at the Butner Quarry.
December 2019 – Sunrock moves into the Canada market by acquiring an existing quarry with 1,400 acres of high quality aggregate reserves located in Burnt River, Ontario, Canada.
August 2020 – The Sunrock Group acquires Spartan Ready-Mix Inc. and an interest in a Joint Venture Sand and Gravel operation in Uxbridge, Ontario.
February 2021 – Sunrock Canada Headquarters opened in February 2021.
March 2021 – The Sunrock Group acquires Fenelon Ready-Mix located in Fenelon Falls, Kawartha Lakes Ontario, Canada.
In the Fall of 2021 Sunrock Soil Systems began offering our new premium topsoil product line.
