**Schedule**
+ **40 hours per week.** This position typically operates Monday-Friday 6:30am-2:30pm.
+ Will also work in **weekend shift rotations** (Sat/Sun 6a-2p approximately every 3rd weekend) and occasional **holiday shift** **rotations** .
+ Candidate must be flexible to work different days, schedules, hours or overtime based on business needs.

**Responsibilities**
+ Prepares and makes deliveries to customer accounts on assigned route using a company vehicle (non-cdl)
+ Packages radiopharmaceutical medication for shipment, performs testing, and loads/unloads containers
+ Uses a handheld tablet to scan customer orders for accuracy, obtain route stop information and navigation
+ Processes packages returned from customer locations
+ Maintains vehicles in proper working condition and may perform minor roadside repairs
+ Performs general facility cleaning and other duties as required
**Qualifications**

+ Must hold a valid driver's license and have a good driving record

Documented proficiency at all competencies required of a polysomnographic technologist or certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists.

Job Summary

Act as the insurance specialist:
* Understand Medicare/Medicaid regulations and billing guidelines as they pertain patient pharmacy benefits
* Understand billing primary, secondary and tertiary insurance claims
* Resolve any billing issues and obtain Prior Authorizations for medications.
* Obtain benefit information and verify patient insurance eligibility and level of coverage
* Cross train within PCC roles as directed to support emergent and ongoing business needs.
Qualifications
* Pharmacy technician experience, or equivalent combination of education and related experience working directly with patients in a healthcare setting. Experience with prior authorizations and their renewal, and medication and financial assistance renewals are a plus.
* Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Access). Experience with Pharmacy, EPIC or similar medical record software a plus.
License/Certification/Registration:
* Registered with State Board of Pharmacy or willingness to become registered upon hire.
* CPhT-Certified Pharmacy Technician License in the State of Massachusetts.

Job Summary

Position Overview The Pharmacy Technician II - Clinical Services at our Wilson Community Health Center supports the comprehensive clinical pharmacy and enabling services. These services include medication therapy management, medication adherence clinic, value-based model appointments, Medicare Part D counseling, etc. This position will also serve in functions of the dispensing pharmacy as needed. The Pharmacy Technician is expected to maintain a high level of accuracy, communicate effectively with patients, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals within an ambulatory clinic/pharmacy setting.
In addition to traditional Pharmacy Technician II - Clinical Services responsibilities (prescription entry, medication preparation, and customer service) within the in-house pharmacies, responsibilities include a variety of tasks which include contacting patients by phone for various clinical pharmacy and/or enabling services, maintaining the appointment schedules for the clinical pharmacists, preliminary patient interview during appointments, and data entry into various computer-based or web-based systems for the purposes of documentation or data collection. Essential Tasks The general responsibilities of this position will be to support comprehensive clinical pharmacy and enabling services of the department. These services include medication therapy management, medication adherence clinic, value-based model appointments, etc.
The Clinical Services Pharmacy Technician is expected to communicate effectively with patients, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
The Clinical Services Pharmacy Technician will contact patients over the phone (often times “cold calling”) for various clinical pharmacy and/or enabling services. The purpose of the contact with patients varies from the type of program but may include: appointment scheduling with the pharmacists; reconciling medication lists, allergy and medical conditions; obtaining other pertinent information as directed by the pharmacist; and educating qualified patients about the services and potential benefits. The Clinical Services Pharmacy Technician (along with the Director of Clinical Pharmacy Services) will identify appropriate patients through on-line databases, wait lists, etc.
The Clinical Services Pharmacy Technician is responsible for maintaining the appointment schedules for the pharmacist and ensuring that sufficient numbers of patients are scheduled. The CS Pharmacy Technician will also perform appointment reminders for patients in advance of the appointment. The Clinical Services Pharmacy Technician will manage the no-showed patient appointments with attempts to reschedule.
The Clinical Services Pharmacy Technician will provide support to the pharmacists providing clinical pharmacy and/or enabling services. This support will include data entry into various computer based or web-based systems for the purposes of documentation or data collection. Additionally, the Clinical Services Pharmacy Technician will (from time to time) begin the preliminary patient interview during the appointment prior to the pharmacist. Experience and Education
High school diploma or GED.
National Pharmacy Technician Certification through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board is required.
Computer literacy.
Must be self-directed with good organization skills.
Excellent communication skills with a high level of comfort interacting with medical providers, pharmacists, pharmacy department staff, and, most importantly patients.
Previous pharmacy work experienced is required.
Valid North Carolina Driver's license - travel is required to all Carolina Family Health locations.
Within 6 months of hire, must become a trained Medicare counselor through the North Carolina Department of Insurance Seniors' Health Insurance Information Program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Enter (new and refill) prescription orders in the computer to include:
Upon receipt of the routing slip check for insurance (Medicaid-obtain card), drug allergies, next appointment;
Alert the pharmacist if any drug allergies are known and enter in the computer;
Check that quantities are sufficient until the next appointment;
Alert the Pharmacist if any drug-drug interactions arise;
Enter and charge Medicaid prescriptions properly;
Enter and charge all indigent patient programs.
Maintain the computer by performing daily backup and monthly backups on the first and fifteenth of each month. Make sure computer systems stay on Monday nights to receive updates.
Produce and check reports
Print daily controlled substances (DEA) report;
Daily transaction report to count number of patients served each day and check for all prices;
Print Medicaid for audits with corrections and claims submissions printout. Review denials;
Resubmitting appropriately as checked by the pharmacist.
Prepackaging medicines for outreach personnel
Print labels per protocol and outreach formulary: Generic name, strength, quantity and labeler-manufacturer; used for (brand name if applicable); directions for use (Spanish and English) from outreach formulary; date, lot number and expiration date.
Maintain supplies
Reorder low stock to include STD and TB medicines;
Sign in orders: check quantities, prices and expiration dates, file all paperwork properly;
Separate files for Controlled Substances receipts, update acquisition prices in the computer;
Return outdated medicine: return before credit is no longer allowed, prepare all paperwork;
According to manufacturer's specifications, mail/prepare for pickup, and send copies to fiscal office;

Job Description
SUMMARY: Works as directed by the Director of Pharmacy Services to make sure medication is filled per protocols and indigent program rebates along with third party insurance completed correctly.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Enter (new and refill) prescription orders in the computer to include:
Upon receipt of the routing slip check for insurance (Medicaid-obtain card), drug allergies, next appointment;
Alert the pharmacist if any drug allergies are known and enter in the computer;
Check that quantities are sufficient until the next appointment;
Alert the Pharmacist if any drug-drug interactions arise;
Enter and charge Medicaid prescriptions properly;
Enter and charge all indigent patient programs.
Maintain the computer by performing daily backup and monthly backups on the first and fifteenth of each month. Make sure computer systems stay on Monday nights to receive updates.
Produce and check reports
Print daily controlled substances (DEA) report;
Daily transaction report to count number of patients served each day and check for all prices;
Print Medicaid for audits with corrections and claims submissions printout. Review denials;
Resubmitting appropriately as checked by the pharmacist.
Prepackaging medicines for outreach personnel
Print labels per protocol and outreach formulary: Generic name, strength, quantity and labeler-manufacturer; used for (brand name if applicable); directions for use (Spanish and English) from outreach formulary; date, lot number and expiration date.
Maintain supplies
Reorder low stock to include STD and TB medicines;
Sign in orders: check quantities, prices and expiration dates, file all paperwork properly;
Separate files for Controlled Substances receipts, update acquisition prices in the computer;
Return outdated medicine: return before credit is no longer allowed, prepare all paperwork;
According to manufacturer's specifications, mail/prepare for pickup, and send copies to fiscal office;
Maintain office supplies: order from proper places using proper forms.
File filled prescriptions daily in numerical order.
Print prescription forms by using available forms.
Update the formulary changes noted by the Pharmacist.
Type minutes of the pharmacy meetings.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Essential Functions
Fills and delivers medication orders for all age groups under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
Answers and screens telephone calls and refers calls to a pharmacist when appropriate.
Performs cart fills, refills automated dispensing machines, restocks emergency boxes and kits.
Processes charges and credits for medications.
Documents and delivers controlled substances.
Monitors medication inventory levels and places orders to restock as necessary.
Compounds and repackages oral medications.
Compounds sterile preparations utilizing proper aseptic technique; follows USP 797 guidelines.
Compounds hazardous high-risk preparations utilizing proper aseptic technique; follows USP 800 guidelines.
Physical Requirements
Works primarily in the pharmacy. Delivers medications to nursing units. Requires considerable walking, standing, pushing mobile cart of 50 pounds maximum and lifting 25 pounds of material. May be required to frequently stretch, bend, squat, or kneel to perform job. Utilizes appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to minimize exposure to hazardous agents. Takes necessary precautions to avoid inadvertent needle sticks, minor cuts or bruises. Exposed to various conditions throughout the workday such as walking on hard surfaces, climbing stairs and changes in temperature and humidity. Must be able to perform manipulative skills such as writing, typing, and data entry into the computer and automated dispensing machines. Must have use of both hands, be able to see clearly and read small type such as that on unit-dose medication packages and syringes. Must be able to speak and be understood by others in order to communicate effectively. Must be able to hear normal sounds with moderate background noises. Involves rotating shifts. May involve rotating through multiple facilities.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Must be currently enrolled as a Junior or a Senior in a program that awards a high school diploma or GED. High school diploma or GED required within 2 years of starting program. Teammate will transition to Pharmacy Technician I upon obtaining High School Diploma or GED.
