Responsibilities Expand Carollo's presence in the local stormwater market via targeted business development strategies, including growing specific client relationships, participating in select professional society activities. Work with the Stormwater Client Service Leads across the company to support local growth in their areas and develop/implement strategy for continued stormwater growth and innovation. Lead the application of 1D and 2D hydraulic and hydrologic modeling systems in urban settings at the local and watershed level to support the planning and design of related infrastructure, including: pipelines, open channels, pump stations, channel stabilization techniques, storage and treatment facilities, multi-benefit facilities, and other conveyance measures. Lead detailed design projects, including the creation of contract documents (i.e., plan sets and specifications), hydraulic and hydrologic calculations, report writing, and other activities needed to support the planning, design, and construction services for stormwater management facilities. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, designers, and scientists, among others, who support specific assignments. Some travel within Florida is expected. Travel outside of Florida may also be needed to support strategic national efforts. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Agricultural Engineering or other appropriate engineering major 10+ years of experience relating to stormwater and water resources projects Florida Professional Engineer License or the ability to obtain within 6 months Extensive expertise in leading the planning and design of solutions for urban stormwater management challenges, related to both quantity and quality Familiarity with standard tools, including ICPR (1D/2D), HEC-RAS (1D/2D), HEC-HMS, ICM, FLO-2D, XPSWMM, ArcGIS, and Civil 3D Experience with the selection and optimization of multi-benefit urban storm water projects Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to apply critical thinking to develop options and recommendations to solve technical challenges Ability to present to groups and communicate effectively with clients and project team Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Agricultural Engineering or appropriate engineering major Extensive experience with client service and business development efforts, including project positioning, proposal preparation, interviews, and technical presentations Proficiency with GIS tools and application Proficiency with other hydrologic/hydraulic and water quality modeling software Experience with Florida Water Management Districts Pay Range An employee's pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.     Brown and Caldwell is looking for a Biosolids Leader to join our Solids and Energy Practice and support our biosolids projects throughout Florida. This candidate will help lead strategic biosolids projects to support respective teams in pursuits, execution, design and construction. This individual will also support the growth of the Solids and Energy Practice at Brown and Caldwell by serving in capacities such as technical lead or project manager for key projects and clients. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, significant biosolids or wastewater design experience, the ability to drive projects and pursuits forward while working with a high-functioning team. The ideal candidate is located in Florida. * Lead strategic biosolids projects as Project Manager or Technical Lead. * Lead Solids & Energy business development efforts as a client facing technical leader and/or subject matter expert. * Work closely with Southeast Area Solids & Energy Practice Leader to understand and support biosolids opportunities. Assess resource gaps and work with other BC leaders to support key strategic hires in Florida. * Coordinate with the Solids & Energy Practice to develop relevant marketing materials. * Work with National Practice, Area Practice and Growth Leaders to develop and foster a team of solids and energy specific Design Managers and develop process / mechanical design engineers to serve BC needs in the region. * Provide guidance on selection of biosolids and biogas technical solutions. * Provide conceptual ideas based on available information for proposals and pre-design efforts. * Assist with proposal development and support project pursuits, including development of design scope and fee, and participate in proposal interviews with clients at the request of Client Service Teams. * Maintain status as a biosolids Subject Matter Expert. * Engage in local and regional biosolids industry associations such as the Florida Water Environment Association and Southeast Biosolids Association. * Be familiar with challenges unique to biosolids throughout the country. Desired Skills and Experience: * Master's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Biological, or Environmental) preferred. Bachelor's degree required. * Minimum of 10 years of related professional experience as biosolids design engineer preferred. * Experience evaluating and designing thermal dryer systems preferred. * PE license required and ability to acquire licensure in multiple states as required. * Minimum of 5 years' experience in project management and client service management. * Experience in project and sub-consultant management. * Strong leadership skills and high emotional intelligence. * Strong verbal/written communication skills and ability to work well independently, and in both in-person and remote team environments. * Must have experience in proposal development and project pursuit support. * Must have experience in presentations to clients, industry conferences, and project teams. * Experience in Design-Build project delivery preferred. * Candidate must be willing and able to travel, up to 30% of the time. * Valid driver's license and good driving record. This individual will complete field work, permit applications and task management for a variety of market sectors, including transmission, oil and gas, renewable, and transportation. Desired Skills and Experience: * Master's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Biological, or Environmental) preferred. Bachelor's degree required. * Minimum of 10 years of related professional experience as a water treatment design Engineer preferred. * PE license required and ability to acquire licensure in multiple states as required. * Minimum of 5 years' experience in project management and client service management. * Experience in project and sub-consultant management. * Strong leadership skills and high emotional intelligence. * Strong verbal/written communication skills and ability to work well independently, and in both in-person and remote team environments. * Must have experience in proposal development and project pursuit support. * Must have experience in presentations to clients, industry conferences, and project teams. * Experience in Design-Build project delivery preferred. * Candidate must be willing and able to travel, up to 30% of the time. * Valid driver's license and good driving record.
