Job Summary:#To perform a variety of technical, clerical, and related duties in connection with the activities of the hospital pharmacy with high level efficiency; demonstrates proficiency in a minimum of two pharmacy competency areas (medication distribution, non-hazardous sterile compounding, hazardous sterile compounding, OR pharmacy support, and/or medication reconciliation); utilizes automation to credit or charge medications to patient accounts; fill requisitions and deliver drugs to nursing units; assist in checking, ordering, and storing floor stock items; and dispense medications under direct supervision of a pharmacist.
## Qualifications:##Completion of 12th grade (high school or equiv).
Six months of hospital pharmacy work experience required; 12 months preferred.
Ability to perform a minimum of two pharmacy competency skills with high level efficiency (medication distribution, non-hazardous sterile compounding, hazardous sterile compounding, OR pharmacy support, and/or medication reconciliation).
Ability to participate in the training of new pharmacy technicians.
Some typing skills; Annual Registration with the NC State Board of Pharmacy is required.

Thoroughly document a patient encounter via Epic to meet accreditation standards by addressing new medications, confirming allergies, verifying quantity of medication on hand and triaging appropriate patient-reported information to providers. Package, ship and track all packages to ensure they are delivered to the appropriate address and within set timeframes for medication integrity. Contributes to process improvement projects.

- Three (3) years of experience working as a pharmacy technician.
- Must have proficient pharmaceutical mathematics skills, including but not limited to multiplication, ratios, and percentages, as assessed by the CPhT test.
Preferred
- Formal training as a pharmacy technician from an educational institution or hospital preferred.
