As Craftsman Assistant / Handyman Assistant at House Doctors, you are a key member of our team responsible for quality residential repairs and home improvement projects. You will work closely with our lead carpenter and technician (with over 20 years of experience) and uphold our standard for excellent customer service and professionalism.

You are self-motivated, communicate well, understand and execute instructions while asking questions when needed, and are able to manage time to effectively meet deadlines.

Daily Duties


· Follow safety protocols. · Assist carpenter and other technicians in their duties as they perform repair and home improvement projects on residential homes. This includes measurements, lumber cutting to specifications, painting prep, project set-up and project clean up, among other duties as needed. · Some independent work will be expected.


Qualifications and Characteristics

• Possess some basic skills and knowledge in carpentry and handyman tasks and be ready to expand those skills as you learn with our technicians
• Own and maintain a basic selection of tools necessary to perform work.
• Excellent customer service skills, an outgoing friendly personality, professional presentation, and appearance.

· Goal-oriented self-starter and a team player who can work well with others but is also able to work independently without heavy supervision

• Must have a valid driver’s license with no major violations or accidents in the last 3 years.
• Must be able to pass a background and drug check.
• Must have reliable transportation

You will report directly to our Installation Manager and work closely with our Lead Installers, Trainers, and Warehouse/Operations professionals.

*A Day in the Life*

In this role, you can expect to:

* Meet at our warehouse at 6:30AM, gather materials, and load company trucks
* Drive to customers home, greet and establish rapport
* Complete controlled demolition of the bathtub/shower area
* Install new bathtub/shower pan and acrylic wall surround, update plumbing as needed
* Show extreme attention to detail and care for customer's home by properly cleaning up following installation
* Obtain necessary signed documents & payment from customer, and return to warehouse
