Base Pay: $17.57 Hourly . SUMMARY: Responsible for new construction and construction maintenance activities at the County parks, other than contracted projects. The employee is required to be on duty before, during, and after natural disasters and emergencies, as directed by the supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assists in the planning, designing, and budgeting for projects involving construction, repair, and remodeling of Parks Department buildings and equipment.
Performs construction and finishing activities involving, but not limited to:
* general carpentry
* constructing walls, doors, and partitions
* remodeling buildings and facilities
* building cabinets and shelves
* installation of sheet rock
* installation of fencing
* preparation for painting
* painting and sealing
* roofing
* installation of windows, cabinets, & shelves

Picks up and/or receives equipment and supplies.
Maintains inventory of equipment and materials.

Maintain parks, buildings and/or fairgrounds including, but not limited to, trimming trees and bushes, removing garbage, picking-up ground litter, and cleaning/sanitizing restrooms.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must have an appropriate Texas Driver's License. Any employee who drives a vehicle on official business must have a driving record, which meets standards set by the County and the County's insurance carrier.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Familiarity with a variety of hand tools and power tools used in carpentry and construction. Knowledge of park maintenance procedures and appropriate safety procedures relating to use of equipment ensuring public safety in facility maintenance. Ability to perform arduous duties under adverse conditions. Demonstrated proficiency in both oral and written communications. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other county employees and officials and the general public.
Ability to maintain a good driving record and retain a Texas driver's license applicable to job responsibilities. Knowledge of first aid.
