1) Purpose of Role
Support concrete and civil carpentry tasks safely and accurately. Learn to read drawings/specs, follow the workflow for formwork and finish tasks, maintain clean workstations, and assist with basic pouring and finishing under supervision.
2) Scope & Decision Rights
Assist with measuring, cutting, and assembly tasks; support setting forms and concrete placement/finishing under direction; uphold housekeeping standards.
3) Essential Duties and Standards
Owns:
Keeping workstations clean with proper housekeeping and tool control; staging materials to support safe production.
Using hand and power tools safely to assist with formwork, rebar placement, and concrete tasks as directed.
Reading and following basic drawing/spec notes with coaching; verifying measurements and layout marks.
Assisting with basic concrete pours and finish work (edge, float, cure) under supervision.
Participating in JSAs and following safe practices for scaffolding, shoring, and silica controls.
Providing inputs to foreman for daily documentation (photos/notes) in Procore as directed.
Supports:
Carpenter 2/journeymen with material prep, form stripping, and rework prevention through good housekeeping.
Survey/layout by protecting stakes and communicating discrepancies in measurements or elevations.
Safety team by following PPE, housekeeping, scaffolding, shoring, and silica procedures.
Recommends/Prepares:
Material/tool needs to execute tasks safely and efficiently.
Simple improvements to workstation organization and cleanup that reduce rework or delays.
Notes on drawing/spec questions to clarify before task start.
Escalates:
Unclear drawings/specs or measurements that dont match field conditions.
Unsafe conditions (unstable forms/shoring, scaffold issues, silica exposure) or defective tools.
Concrete quality issues (mix, slump, curing) or damage to forms/stakes that affect tolerance.
4) Critical Competencies (must demonstrate)
Construction domain: Basic formwork and rebar tasks; concrete placement and finish fundamentals; safe hand/power tool use; measurement and layout basics; reading drawings/specs with coaching; Job Safety Analysis; housekeeping; scaffolding/shoring awareness; Hand/power tools for carpentry; formwork hardware; basic finishing tools; Procore exposure for daily photos/notes.

Understands housekeeping, scaffolding/shoring awareness, and silica controls.
OSHA 10 and First Aid; Silica Awareness.
Valid drivers license.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
· Able to complete onsite millwork, cabinet and countertop, fixture, graphic and décor installs in commercial and retail environments.
· Personnel management of various crew sizes ranging from 3-6 employees or larger projects of 8 or more employees.
· Able to receive, stage and manage large inventory of millwork and fixture parts for distribution and installation.
· Able to evaluate site conditions, construction and delivery schedules and when these factors are not aligned, clearly and effectively communicate to Project Management Team, onsite contractor or when necessary, our client.
· Able to establish and understand layouts for millwork, fixtures and other elements.
· Must always represent the company in a professional manner. Adopt and embrace our company Core Values.
· Report time sheets, expense reports, daily reports and progress photos electronically. Generate additional work validations as required when non-contract scope is required.
· Perform all tasks of a finish carpenter including installation of cabinets, countertops, standing and running trim (base, chair rail, crown moldings, door and window casings), scribing, coping, installing wall panel systems, retail fixtures etc.
· Ability to manage and motivate others while maintaining professionalism.
· Able to professionally interact with clients, general contractors and other sub-contractors.
· Strong working knowledge of woodworking hand and power tools.
· Strong working knowledge and understanding of architectural drawings, shop drawings and fixturing floorplans.
· Must have a strong commitment to job site safety including always maintaining a clean jobsite.

Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a carpenter, preferably in repair and maintenance
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques and materials
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent and two years of carpentry experience; OR
Completion of vocational or apprenticeship program in carpentry/building trades; OR
Three years of experience in carpentry under the supervision of a skilled carpenter; OR
A satisfactory combination of experience required.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods standing, bending, stooping, and reaching.
Must have a full range of physical motion as required to properly operate manual and electric power tools.
Must have balance necessary to traverse and work on scaffolding and roofs.
Will work in a variety of environments and weather with exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals in both indoor and outdoor construction and carpentry.
Must be able to regularly lift and carry 50 pounds and 100 pounds occasionally.
