Read blueprints for work planning

Qualifications & Experience:

Position Summary
We're looking for a skilled and motivated Carpenter to join our team on a contract basis. This person will assist in building, assembling, finishing and staging wood and mixed-material components in our shop, and occasionally on site. They will work closely with carpenters, fabricators, installers and the broader team to bring custom builds to life. The ideal candidate is hands-on, comfortable with tools, materials and physical work, thrives on collaboration, and takes pride in quality.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the construction of wood, metal and mixed-material components: cutting, fitting, sanding, finishing, assembly.
Read and interpret basic drawings, shop sketches, build instructions; ask questions and verify dimensions.
Work with hand tools and power tools (saws, drills, sanders, joiners, etc.) safely and proficiently.
Collaborate with carpenters, fabricators and team members to assemble modules, install hardware, fasten assemblies, and prepare components for installation.
Load, unload, move and stage materials and finished elements in the shop and/or on site.

Help pack, crate, or wrap components for transport to job sites or events.

Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience working in a fabrication, carpentry, woodworking or shop environment (ideally 1-3 years or more) building components, assemblies, or display/install pieces.
Comfortable with woodwork (cutting, joinery, finishing) and mixed materials (for example laminates, metal hardware, composite panels) - ability to “build things”.
Good team player: able to collaborate, communicate clearly, receive direction and contribute proactively.
Solid mechanical aptitude: ability to use hand/power tools safely, perform measurements, fit and align parts accurately.
Attention to detail and pride in workmanship - clean fits, good finish, safe builds.
Ability to read simple sketches, shop drawings, work orders; interpret instructions and ask clarifying questions.
