Job Description Foreman PROJECT DURATION: This contracted position is tied to a specific five (5) to nine (9)-month project, with openings ranging from thirty-six (36) to forty-eight (48) months with the maintenance crew. Upon successful completion of the project, long-term opportunities within the organization may be considered for interested candidates. Scaffold Resource has been a fixture and steady force in the Mid-Atlantic region's scaffold and vertical access industry for more than two decades. Created in 1998, Scaffold Resource has grown in its ability to provide a vast array of vertical access services. It has successfully accomplished this task while expanding its customer base and project capabilities to meet the demands of every conceivable challenge it has been contracted to complete. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This position reports to the Field Manager and is responsible for supervising scaffold crews in the field for the erection, modification, and dismantling of all scaffold systems. The Scaffold Foreman ensures work is performed in compliance with safety standards, project requirements, and company policies. Daily responsibilities include worksite supervision, crew training, job execution, and customer coordination. Scaffold Foremen are key leaders on site and are accountable for job performance, crew safety, field paperwork, and job progress communication with the Field Manager. Project Execution & Supervision: Supervise scaffold crews on active job sites during scaffold erection, modification, and dismantle. Interpret scaffold drawings and work plans, ensuring crews follow specifications and schedules. Coordinate with Field Managers, customers, and site superintendents to align tasks with overall project goals. Lead the project kickoff with assigned crew to communicate scope, hazard plans, and execution timeline. Monitor scaffold build integrity and jobsite compliance with internal QA standards and customer requirements. Track scope changes and notify Field Managers of any delays, change orders, or additional requested work. Worksite Safety & Compliance: Act as the Competent Person per OSHA standards for scaffold erection and fall protection. Lead weekly toolbox talks, stretch-and-flex programs, and job hazard analysis walkthroughs. Conduct scaffold inspections for build integrity and site safety. Enforce PPE usage, scaffold tie-off policies, and safe material handling practices. Immediately correct unsafe behaviors or conditions and report incidents or injuries to the Safety Team & Field Manager. Labor, Equipment, and Material Coordination: Submit material lists and verify readiness of components/tools for their ongoing projects. Coordinate with shipping/receiving and scaffold yard to manage daily material requirements. Track and document materials, inventory returns, and loss discrepancies on each job. Maintain cleanliness and order of site laydown areas and staging zones. Ensure all scaffold components are returned and accounted for post-job. Performance Monitoring & Administrative Duties: Complete daily crew clock in and productivity updates using WorkMax or other digital platforms. Provide input to the Field Manager on crew performance, safety concerns, and site efficiency. Conduct on-the-job training for new hires and coach team on standard build procedures. Support adherence to customer expectations and company performance goals. Document change orders, T&M tickets, and material overages for tracking by Field Manager. The Scaffold Foreman is accountable for daily jobsite crew performance, safety enforcement, and project execution per company standards. QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or GED required. Minimum 3 years scaffold erection experience, with at least 1 year in a lead or foreman role. OSHA 30 Construction certification. First Aid and CPR certification preferred. Ability to read blueprints, scaffold plans, and elevation drawings. Proficient with digital timekeeping and safety reporting platforms (WorkMax, iAuditor, etc.). Must be physically capable of lifting, climbing, kneeling, and working at heights. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. Under direct supervision of the Carpenter Foreman, coordinate assigned work and perform all aspects of general carpentry. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned to meet the goals of the Department and University. * Perform a variety of journey level skilled carpentry work in the construction, maintenance, and repair of buildings and facilities; and perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility. * Accurately record time and materials expended on jobs. * Perform related duties as assigned. * Report for work in emergency situations (hurricanes, floods, etc.) unless otherwise directed by the Assistant Vice President for Administration. * It may be necessary to perform work in noisy, hot, dry, and/or wet locations. Typical Qualifications * High school graduate, G.E.D., or successful completion of vocational school training in the field of carpentry, and practical experience of at least five years in general carpentry work (including time in vocational training). * Knowledge of principles, procedures, and terminology used in the carpentry trade; tools and materials used in custom carpentry; methods and procedures in building construction, repair, and remodeling; and materials and equipment used in the carpentry trades. * Ability to read and interpret plans and blueprints. * Ability to perform drywall finish work and painting as necessary. * Ability to interpret instructions and carry them out properly. * Ability to adopt an industrious and cooperative attitude in relations with fellow workers. * Must possess and maintain a current valid driver's license as a condition of employment, and must also be able to successfully pass any driver background investigation and any driver education courses required by Risk Management. * Must be willing to work overtime or extra hours when assigned, and to adjust work schedule to the needs of the department when necessary. * Must be able to lift heavy objects and handle large items. Must be able to withstand heat and dust. Must be able to bend, stoop, climb, and work in cramped areas.

The Carpenter is responsible for coordination and completion of all carpentry responsibilities, ordering materials, and building requests on property. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Must have five years related experience.
