The Production Artisan - Carpenter is responsible for fabricating and maintaining dimensional entertainment assets to meet Disney standards, following the Shop Lead's direction, and assisting senior artisans. The role involves utilizing skills in various disciplines such as Carpentry and Scenic Construction. Additionally, the Production Artisan must maintain a safe work environment, including proper chemical handling and documentation, and keep records of chemical use and hazardous waste disposal.
You will report to the Manager, Scenic Fabrication.
This is a part-time role, with no guarantee of weekly hours, as it will fluctuate with the business needs.
What You Will Do:
Possess knowledge of the primary fabrication tools, materials, and techniques used in the maintenance and creation of entertainment assets.
Assist senior artisans in the fabrication of new assets.
Maintain a safe work environment, including respirator use, cleanliness of the area, proper chemical handling, and documentation.
Maintain records of chemical use and proper hazardous waste disposal.
Follow the Shop Lead's direction to fabricate dimensional entertainment assets using working drawings to meet the Designer's vision. The level of skill and/or years of experience allows them to repair and maintain existing assets and assist in creating new assets that meet Disney standards.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Knowledge of materials, tools, and techniques used in the creation of live entertainment assets for one or more of the following disciplines: Carpentry or Scenic Construction.
Adaptability as you may be required to change work priorities on short notice to ensure on-time production deadlines
Willingness to follow instructions
Cooperation with fellow Cast Members, within and outside the main line of business, including facility partners and outside vendors.
Ability to interface with other departments, such as Technical Services, Broadcasting, Marketing, Sales
Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics.
Attention to details with multiple projects
Available to work Sunday through Saturday, all shifts (i.e., 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift) as deemed required by management.
