Self-performing repairs in an efficient, cost effective manner with quality of work as their top priority Sourcing and purchasing materials needed for job specific repairs Photo documenting needed repairs and reporting job status updates to supervisor Provide your own tools and transportation Monitors day-to-day job site safety, security and cleanliness Reports to Project Superintendent/Manager any discoveries outside of scope of work (damages, rot, change orders) Reports any issues, delays, accidents or other incidents to Superintendent/Project Manager Reports any emergencies or requests of client to Superintendent/Project Manager The ideal candidate should possess the following skills/experience: 5-7 years of hands-on general construction experience, preferably in multi-family dwelling reconstruction Highly knowledgeable in carpentry construction trades, practices, regulations and safety compliance Proven hands-on carpentry experience Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques, materials and methods of installation and construction Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.) Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times Able to read, interpret, comprehend architectural/engineered drawings, plans and other technical documents Good understanding of basic math Preferably bi-lingual but not required (English/Spanish) Maintains a personable, approachable, friendly demeanor with all associates, clients and colleagues. Position Summary The Carpenter is responsible for executing a range of skilled tasks on commercial remodeling projects, including demolition, framing, millwork, FRP, and laminate installation. This role supports the Lead Carpenter in layout and measurement duties, operates tools safely, and contributes to maintaining an organized and efficient job site. The Carpenter is expected to perform tasks with increasing independence and precision while upholding quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Perform demolition, framing, millwork, FRP, and laminate installation according to project specifications. Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively. Assist with layout and measurements under the direction of the Lead Carpenter. Help maintain job site cleanliness, organization, and safety compliance. Execute assigned tasks with attention to detail and growing autonomy. Work closely with the Lead Carpenter and crew to meet daily production goals. Communicate progress, challenges, and material needs to field leadership. Support a positive team environment and contribute to a culture of craftsmanship and accountability. Qualifications & Experience 24 years of hands-on carpentry experience in commercial or retail construction. Previous Experience working in Wal-Marts, Vons, Albertsons, Safeway, CVS etc. is aPLUS. Familiarity with demolition, framing, finish carpentry, and specialty installations. Experience working on active job sites with multiple trades and tight schedules. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and carpentry equipmentsafely and effectively. Basic understanding of construction drawings and layout plans. Experience working on active job sites with multiple trades and tight schedules. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods on active construction sites. Must be able to lift and carry materials or equipment of up to 75 pounds. Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, and work at heights as needed.
