Demonstrates aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities. Such alternatives to the above qualifications the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Assumes primary responsibility for the repair of flooring, door frames, doors, window frames, staircases, stair treads, wall paneling, ceiling paneling, hardware, and similar structural elements in the facilities owned or operated by the district. Supervises and assists in the training of all apprentice carpenters. Instructs apprentice carpenters on the proper use and care of hardware. Assumes responsibility for the erecting of scaffolding, formation of concrete forms, and similar nonstructural projects. Recommends supplies and equipment for purchase, and maintains the inventory of district-owned hand tools, equipment, hardware, materials, and supplies. Responds to assigned work orders. Responds to emergency calls. Maintains a valid S.C. Driver's License. Must be able to work outside for eight (8) hours a day (flexible schedule as may be required) and lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis. Works with others consistently in a cooperative and respectful manner. Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned. TERMS: 240 DAYS. EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation.
