About the Role
This position can be physically demanding and candidates must be able to work outdoors, at heights and travel as needed. Essential Responsibilities:
Performs any combination of the following duties on construction projects, usually working in a utility capacity and by transferring from one task to another. Activities include but are not limited to:
Constructs forms and chutes for pouring concrete
Erects scaffolding and ladders
Constructs, erects, installs and repairs structures and fixtures of wood, plywood and wallboard using hand tools and power tools.
Prepares layout, using rule, framing square and calipers.
Marks cutting and assembly lines on materials using pencil, chalk and marking gauge
Verifies trueness of structure with plumb bob and carpenter's level
Erects framework for structures and lays subflooring
Builds stairs and lays out and installs partitions and cabinet work
May remove and replace sections of structures prior to and after installation of insulating material.
Metal stud framing
Working with suspended ceilings
Ability to work without close supervision once directed on task.
Obeys and follows all safety rules on the job site and encourages others to do the same.
Maintains a good relationship with co-workers and works well with others to accomplish a task.
Physical demands of this position include lifting up to 70 pounds occasionally; 50 pounds frequently along with frequent handling and reaching, occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and feeling.

Summary:
Lead Carpenter is responsible for performing all duties associated with carpentry work including but not limited to coordinating craftsman, materials, equipment, and subcontractors required for the jobsite. Lead Carpenter will also be responsible for successfully complete project to specifications on schedule in a safe, quality manner, meeting, and exceeding customer expectations. Constructs, erects, installs, repairs structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, using carpenter's hand tools and power tools, and conforming to local building codes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain project schedule through leading and working with crew to accomplish daily tasks assigned by Project Superintendent.
Act as liaison between owner, project superintendent, project manager, subcontractors, etc.
Studies blueprints, sketches, or building plans for information pertaining to type of material required and dimensions of structure or fixture to be fabricated.
Prioritize adherence to quality management system (QMS) requirements.
Prepare daily work logs and progress reports.
Builds/constructs footings, walls, columns, and decks using a variety of hand tools and power tools and materials, including aluminum joists, adjustable joists, shoring, and lumber.
Sets and anchor bolts and metal studs for door and window frames and installs metal frames for doors and windows.
Builds stairs, lays out and installs partitions, and cabinet work.
Constructs forms and chutes for pouring concrete.
Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
Performs miscellaneous duties as requested, including installation of safety cables and railing.
This job is safety sensitive for medical marijuana purposes.

Education/Skill Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent in written and oral communication.
Career experience must include at least 3 to 5 years as a fully qualified and competent carpenter, who is familiar with other construction trades and crafts.
Completion of formal apprenticeship program, superintendent training program, or equivalent combinations of technical training and/ or work experience.
Workers should be able to work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.

This is a 4-year program that consists of on-the-job training as a full-time employee and attending class one day per week at Ozarks Technical College in Springfield, Missouri, during the spring and fall semesters. Topics discussed in class may include safety, carpentry, concrete work, plan reading, and many other topics. Credit may be given to applicants for prior related experience on a case-by-case basis.
Branco apprentices not only learn skills in the classroom, they gain invaluable experience by working alongside Branco journeymen carpenters at jobs in the 4-state area or beyond. Our journeymen carpenters are professional craftsmen whose valuable experience and knowledge get passed on to our apprentices. The apprentice gains knowledge and hones their craft, while Branco gains a valuable and skilled employee. Graduates of our apprenticeship program are recognized and certified as Journeyman Carpenters by the U.S. Department of Labor. It truly is a Win-Win!

Primary Responsibilities
Construct, erect, install concrete forms
Measure and mark lines on forms to the proper grade
Verify trueness of structure, using plumb bob and level or transit
Install blockouts, embedded angles, plates, bolts, and other anchors to formwork
Understand, interpret, and troubleshoot blueprints, sketches, or building plans
Provide a comprehensive list of forming materials and hardware required for the task at hand
Job Requirements
Consistent dependability (must have good attendance)
Reliable transportation for travel up to 75 miles to job site
Lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds, and up to 90 pounds of material with assistance
