MACHINE OPERATOR
Location: Clearwater, Florida
Schedule: 12hr Shifts 2-2-3 Schedule 6pm-6am
POSITION SUMMARY: This position is the entry level position in the manufacturing department. A machine operator 1 will be trained in a single role in the plant. Machine operator 1s may be assigned to any department or machine in the plant. Flexibility is expected and assignments may change if business conditions require it. Assigned responsibility could include machine operation or inspection. The position offers cross-training across related functions to enhance versatility and team collaboration. PRIMARY DUTIES
Read and acknowledge the required work instructions for a single work center
Locate and describe the usage of Standardized Work for a single work center
Proven ability to read and understand work instructions from work order or traveler
Locate and demonstrate understanding of input and output tests
Explain the escalation plan
Proven ability to identify a quality product applied to and produced at the assigned manufacturing process
Communicate with Team Lead, or previous shift operators to determine the status of the in-process work, machine conditions, and other work to be completed
Set up manufacturing equipment, within standard time, using documented procedures, to produce quality products
Maintain a clean and orderly work area in accordance with 6S standards
Segregate trash material into proper receptacles (trash, recyclables, etc.)
Demonstrated understanding of the operation of the manufacturing process in order to produce a quality product and to be proficient at machine operation
Ability to observe machine operation to determine the accuracy of operation and make subsequent adjustments as required to produce quality products efficiently
Informs Team Leader or Supervisor of any irregularities in material, equipment, procedures, etc. including advance notice of the need to replenish consumable wear parts
Responsible for maintaining crew compliance with established operating procedures
Maintain product and scrap identification
Records required information on forms and/or electronic I/O devices
Understands how to find Work Order information using ERP system
Communicate with other crew members to overcome or correct problems as they occur
Assist other operators as required during a downtime situation
Familiar with all process chemicals used in the work area and the safety standards for their use
Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by Team Leader, Supervisor, or Manager.
