We are looking for a Mechanical Testing Technician to join our Advanced Materials Engineering Team located in East Syracuse.
This position focuses on characterizing materials-mainly through mechanical testing-to support product qualification and design validation. Working as part of a highly skilled team of materials, mechanical, and chemical engineering experts, the role involves applying existing materials to new applications while evaluating emerging materials and technologies. About the position
The Test Lab Technician will support the Heat Transfer Group by performing experimental setups, operating test facilities, and ensuring accurate data collection for HVAC components and systems. About this position:
Carrier Transicold is seeking a self-motivated Mechanical or Electrical Engineer to join the Syracuse, NY Truck/Trailer Power Generation team. In this role, you will provide design, development, and verification engineering support with a focus on diesel engines, their associated engine subsystems, fluids (typical, alternative, & biodiesel fuels, oils, & coolants) and filtration.
Role Responsibilities:
Conduct design evaluation, benchmarking, supplier evaluation, project tracking, and subsystem qualification of diesel engines and related subsystems used in the Transport Refrigeration Unit (TRU), genset, and auxiliary power unit (APU) applications.
Create and/or modify documentation including technical requirements, functional specifications, design specifications, qualification test plans, reports, and engineering change notices.
Support global Sustaining Engineering Groups with their evaluation of engines, subsystems, or component field or test sample failures to determine root cause and identify appropriate corrective actions.
Participate in and lead component design reviews.
Interface with cross functional team members, diesel engine manufacturers, and other suppliers from design concept to production.
Apply knowledge of DFMEA or other robust engineering tools, tolerance analysis, simulation and statistical methods to improve robustness and quality of TRU engines and components.
Implement and support development testing activities, including daily interaction with Carrier Transicold test engineering department and component vendors.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
10+ years experience of compression ignition (CI) and/or spark ignition (SI) engines or related engine/exhaust aftertreatment component.
8+ years experience in any of the following engineering disciplines: functions / engine application / development (testing) / or validation.
2+ years experience in diesel engine emissions, certification process and/or compliance.

About This Role:
Our Customer Care Center is the first line of customer communication for incoming calls on the 1-800-Carrier line. We serve North America, including Canada. Our customer base is end users of our brands of HVAC equipment (residential homeowners). **About the position**
The Test Lab Technician will support the Heat Transfer Group by performing experimental setups, operating test facilities, and ensuring accurate data collection for HVAC components and systems. This position focuses on characterizing materials-mainly through mechanical testing-to support product qualification and design validation. **About this role**
**The Heat Transfer Group** in Carrier's Mechanical Center of Excellence is seeking a motivated, results-oriented and experienced **Sr. Engineer** to join our team. The candidate will be a key member of the team providing advanced heat exchanger solutions to Carrier's global HVAC&R portfolio. The candidate's primary responsibility will be to lead modeling-centered technology and product development. They will collaborate with other technology experts, modeling and simulation experts, product design groups, supply chain partners, and others to develop new opportunities to improve the performance, cost, and reliability of Carrier products.
**Role Responsibilities:**
+ Work with a diverse team of heat transfer experts.
+ Support technology and product development programs that will enable career growth.
+ Solve engineering problems critical to the reduction in energy use and carbon emissions.
+ Join the R&D sector of the leading global HVAC&R company.
**Role Purpose:**
+ Support technology and product development programs and deliver on-time solutions to customers.
+ Develop, validate, and deploy new heat exchanger technologies for Carrier's current and growing range of products.
+ Identify and pursue innovation opportunities that improve efficiency, cost, reliability, and competitiveness of Carrier products.
+ Apply state-of-art design and simulation tools to optimize heat exchanger performance.
+ Work with cross functional product development teams to ensure successful insertion of new designs into Carrier products.
**Basic Requirements:**
+ Bachelor's degree of science/art with 4+ years engineering experience.ORMaster's degree of science/art with 2+ years engineering experience.ORPhD degree.
**Preferred Qualifications (nice to have):**

+ Experience with:
+ Heat Exchange Design.
+ Heat Exchanger Fundamentals.
