Cart Attendant Careers

Cart attendants are hired in retail stores to handle customer service and janitorial tasks. They retrieve and maintain shopping carts from parking lot cart stalls. They clean them and return them to the front of the store for use. Besides that, they help guests carry out items ranging from grocery bags to heavy parcels. Furthermore, they pick up and remove any garbage around the store's entrances and clean up any spills that may occur throughout the store. Being an entry-level position, all that is required is a high school diploma or its equivalent. Employers may provide on-the-job training once hired. You must be physically fit, detail-oriented, a problem solver, and a good communicator. Cart attendants make an average salary of $25,831 per year. This varies between $17,000 and $38,000.

Some places are better than others when it comes to starting a career as a cart attendant. The best states for people in this position are New Hampshire, Vermont, Washington, and Connecticut. Cart attendants make the most in New Hampshire with an average salary of $29,410. Whereas in Vermont and Washington, they would average $29,256 and $28,624, respectively. While cart attendants would only make an average of $27,926 in Connecticut, you would still make more there than in the rest of the country.
