Description:
Under minimal supervision, you will review each work order and ensure proper materials are available. You will then set up the necessary equipment and material to assemble the doors according to the design provided. This includes cutting components accurately, hinge and lockset prep, and cutting and fastenings jambs, stops, and casings. Various assembly machinery is used as well as power, air and hand tools. The goal is to complete orders accurately and according to schedule.
Requirements:
Experience in manufacturing is preferred

About the Role
The entry level Assembler, both light assembly and heavy assembly, is responsible for operating and maintaining machinery to assemble parts in the Containment department. In this position, you will have the opportunity to learn and gain working knowledge of all equipment and machinery within the department.
What You'll Do
Has working knowledge of all equipment and machinery within the department.
Assembles containment doors, partitions, and other products per product specifications.
Detects faulty materials used to assemble parts and reports findings to the Team Leader or Supervisor.
Completes production reporting and quality paperwork accurately as required.
Uses proper equipment and hand-jacks to ensure proper movement or storage of product or material.

Job Purpose
Assemble a wide variety of component parts, to build complete units, with a focus of on-line operations.
Key Responsibilities
1) Apply, align, attach, insert, and fasten various commodities, components, parts, sub-assemblies, or units to chassis in required order and sequence.

Education/experience: Any combination of education providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be:
High School Diploma or GED preferred
Previous manufacturing or assembly line experience preferred, but not required
Skills/Knowledge Required:
Must be able to read a tape measure accurately
Ability to work independently and with a team
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance and more than 50 lbs. using a team-lift
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Good hand-eye coordination
Physical Environment/Working Conditions:
This position involves standing, walking and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day. It requires grasping and fine finger manipulation on both hands. The position requires stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling. It requires grasping and fine manipulation on both hands. The plant is not climate controlled. Noise levels can become high. NWD provides and requires hearing protection in the department. The work is done in an area where moving mechanical machinery, parts or vibration are located.
Specific vision requirements:
This position requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Description:
Under minimal supervision, you will review each work order and ensure proper materials are available. You will then set up the necessary equipment and material to assemble the doors according to the design provided. This includes cutting components accurately, hinge and lockset prep, and cutting and fastenings jambs, stops, and casings. Various assembly machinery is used as well as power, air and hand tools. The goal is to complete orders accurately and according to schedule.
Requirements:
* Experience in manufacturing is preferred
* Experience in the use of a variety of tools is preferred
* Ability to work in a team environment
* General carpentry skills are desired
* Ability to do repetitious work at a fast pace while standing for long periods of time
* Ability to lift up to 100 pounds without assistance
