Cascade currently has six treatment locations in Lewis County.The Cascade Evaluation and Treatment Center provides intensive mental health and psychiatric services for adults 18 and older. This 22-bed facility has 16 beds on the evaluation and treatment unit, and 6 beds on our crisis stabilization unit. We are looking for a Security Officer to join our team. The Crisis Relief Center Security Officer will provide security and safety services as part of a multi-disciplinary team of behavioral health professionals who provide and coordinate rehabilitation and community support services for clients who are actively experiencing a mental health crisis and/or are recovering from severe mental health conditions (e.g., high risk for hospitalization, being jailed, or placed in some other restrictive facility as a result of or in conjunction with their mental illness). The Security Officer will protect and maintain a safe and secure environment by enforcing rules and regulations to provide for the safety of personnel, patients, visitors, and the facility. SHIFTS AVAILABLE: Swing Shift, Friday - Monday: 12:00pm - 10:30pm This position is eligible for $2/hour shift differential for eligible hours on Swing an NOC shifts and hours worked on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. PAY SCALE: $20.18 - $24.60, DOE. WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE: Washington State Registered Agency Affiliated Counselor (RAAC) credential required, or eligible to obtain. Must be able to pass WA State Patrol Background check at hire and annually thereafter. May require National background check if havent lived in Washington State consecutively the last three years. Current Drivers License required. Must be able to operate agency vehicle legally in State of Washington. Must have satisfactory driving record. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to work dynamically as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, public and private sector organizations, community groups, and the public. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Provides security measures during voluntary admission to the Crisis Relief Center to ensure the safety of personnel. Helps with Law Enforcement and Ambulance Diversion drop offs for the Crisis Relief Center that are admitted through the Ambulance entrance. Ensures patients are restrained if they become abusive to personnel. Responds to assist and manage combative patients to ensure the safety of patients and personnel. Responds to pages to assist in de-escalating patients and preventing a physical confrontation Prevents patients from harming themselves or others by physically restraining them. Assists in preventing violent outbursts by providing added security to the Crisis Relief Center before patients become combative. Responds to medical codes by escorting emergency personnel and vehicles to the unit or site. Provides general security for the Crisis Relief Center to ensure the safety and security of buildings, patients, and personnel. Consistently monitors the open observation area of the Crisis Relief Center to ensure safety. Escorts unauthorized visitors from campus. Monitors visitors to ensure safety. Ensures the safety of personnel that have been threatened by patients or their families, which includes monitoring visitors on the campus and escorting personnel to work site and vehicles. May be required to transport clients to other facilities or locations, including transit stations, in accordance with program needs. Patrols buildings and grounds by foot and vehicle to ensure personal and property safety. Checks buildings for unlocked doors and windows; vandalism; fire and other hazardous conditions; and proper operation of the heating plant. Directs traffic and parking. Maintains a log of shift activities and prepares incident reports. Provides information and assistance to the public. Removes snow and monitors trustees involved in the removal of snow. Responds to maintenance calls to determine the nature of the problem and take the appropriate action under the direction of maintenance after hours. . Notifies appropriate personnel to fix immediately if necessary. Monitors weather radios during times of inclement weather to ensure the safety of personnel and patients. Performs other work as assigned. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Occasional to considerable standing or walking, varies based on acuity of unit. Protective holds, movements and carries. Blocking and redirecting patient movements. Physical interventions in response to aggressive and self-injurious behavior. Ability to move quickly and confidently to intervene in situations when protective holds and/or movements are deemed necessary. Ability to pursue a client in the event they try to leave the secure unit. Successful completion of MOAB training (Management of Aggressive Behavior). Including but not limited to pivoting, knee squats, shuffling front and backwards, assisting a person to the floor, stabilizing people in standing, seated, lying and supine positions. Lifts, positions, pushes, and/or transfers patients. Occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. The Assistant Manager for the Mobile Crisis Team assists with the day-to-day operations including scheduling, case management, and ensuring compliance with state regulations. This position also participates in training, supervision, and quality assurance of the mobile crisis team. SHIFTS AVAILABLE: This position will normally require that the employee work a non-standard workweek including nights, weekends, and holidays. This positions primary schedule will be swing shift, the schedule will include a weekend day. Due to this program being operational 24/7/365, there are circumstances that may require working a flexible schedule. Operations of the program may require a staff member to remain on shift until a relief worker is found in the event a shift is not covered, this may result in mandatory overtime.
