The Packaging Operator is responsible for the operation of the packaging department including the packaging, palletizing and boxing of cheese, documentation, and all other related processes throughout the packaging area. The schedule is full time working a 2-2-3 rotation on 1st shift, 4:00 AM - 4:00 PM. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Operates and monitors block forming tower sequencing through HMIs, metal detectors and Beta-Vac packaging machine to ensure quality of products to company and customer standards. Loads bags onto tower. Enters work orders, lot numbers and items codes into scale equipment. Weighs and attaches identification labels to blocks. Adjusts towers to ensure proper block heights and product weight. Boxes cheese according to work instruction and performs quality control checks. Palletizes blocks, labels pallets and moves finished pallets from production to staging area. Closes work orders for product shipment; records pertinent information for financial tracking. Performs setup, calibration, and minor maintenance on scale, printer, and box taper. Documents all production according to established procedures. Takes and records cooler temperatures; reports deviations from company standards to Production Supervisors and/or Maintenance.
