CASCO + R|5 history

On March 28, 1820, St Clair County was set off from Wayne County by a proclamation by Governor Lewis Cass.

With the opening of the Erie Canal in 1825, Michigan and its waterways gained important connections to the Northeast U.S, and the people living in New York and New England gained access to wide open territory in Michigan and beyond.

In 1836, St Clair County was modified to be in its current configuration.

Casco Township was set off from China Township by act of the Michigan Legislature on March 15, 1849[iv] W.D. Hart was the first Supervisor, and he served seven terms on the Board of Supervisors, and he also held the office of Town Clerk and Town Treasurer.[v]

In 1891, the Grand Trunk opened the world’s first international submarine railway tunnel under the St Clair River, connecting Sarnia to Port Huron.

Casco Products Corporation was founded in 1921 and is headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany.

Founded in 1932, Amphenol designs, manufactures and markets electrical, electronic and fiber optic connectors, interconnect systems, antennas, sensors and sensor-based products and coaxial and high-speed specialty cable.

CASCO evolved from a civil and structural engineering firm originally established by E. George Cassis, P.E. in Litchfield, Illinois in 1959.

Around 1965, in a joint venture with William en Tao and Associates, Cassis Associates built a new office building at 2357 59th Street in south St Louis.

In April of 1985, the company took the name of CASCO Corporation.

In the fall of 1987, CASCO relocated to 10877 Watson Road, Sunset Hills, MO. Under JC’s leadership, the firm would enjoy an era of explosive growth by serving retailers developing stores nationally.

Dan is a 1989 graduate of the University of Kansas, B.S. Architectural Engineering, and is a Professional Engineer in 25 states.

Dan began work at CASCO in 1993 as a structural engineer and began a successful career as a Project Manager and Site Development Coordinator shortly thereafter.

In September 2014, Casco Products was acquired by Amphenol Corporation.

At the end of 2016 the company was sold to its third generation of ownership.

2017: New Civil Engineering leadership is procured to restore civil engineering presence in the St Louis region.

In 2018 CASCO Diversified re-branded as CASCO + R|5.
