Leominster High School serves over 1800 students in a growing and diverse community that includes a comprehensive and vocational school. Job Responsibilities * Meet regularly with students to provide career and college counseling for students to include scheduling, progress monitoring, and post-high school planning. * Work closely with the Student Support Team to plan and implement interventions for students. * Write and manage 504 plans for applicable students on caseload * Attend and contribute to various team meetings include IEP * Track graduation requirements for all students on caseload, and adjust student schedules accordingly * Engage with families and outside agencies as partners around successes, challenges, and problem-solving on behalf of our students. * Other duties as determined by the school Principal such as awards ceremonies, scholarship reviews, and family information nights. Position Qualifications * Masters degree * Appropriate content/program area and grade level educator license (School Counselor) from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education required. Educators who are not yet licensed by MA DESE in the appropriate content/program area and grade level may be eligible for a licensure waiver and are still encouraged to apply. * Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, to include the ability to work with families and outside agencies. * Strong planning and collaboration skills. * Skills in de-escalation strategies, conflict resolution, and behavior management * Experience with diverse student populations preferred. * Bilingual in English and Spanish or Portuguese preferred
