Conducts individual and group therapy sessions to educate patients regarding psychological, emotional, or substance abuse problems

About the Position
We have an exciting opening for a Residential Associate. Residential Associates work as members of a direct care team serving adults with serious mental illness. Their primary responsibilities include supporting the development of life skills and therapeutic interventions, performing housekeeping and meal preparation, administering medication, and keeping accurate clinical documentation. Vocational Training Program

For 52 years Outside In has transformed thousands of lives by helping break the cycles of chronic homelessness, poverty and poor health among Portland's LGBTQIA+ community, people of color, those experiencing homelessness, and the underserved. Our health clinic and young adult programs strive to meet people where they are and provide safe, affirming spaces for our community to receive judgment-free care and support.
The Outside In Transitional Living Program provides 24/7 support to the young adults living on site. This requires us to have a team of on-call Youth Specialists who can cover for vacations or sick time off.
Youth Specialists assist in facilitating the day-to-day services offered in both the Day Services Program and the Transitional Living Program. Support for Day Program and Housing Program services can include assisting with youth skill-building activities including healthy recreation and art activities, food preparation, and helping ensure safe and respectful program spaces. Youth Specialists are also responsible for utilizing a harm reduction and trauma-informed approach and responding to crises. The long-term goal of the Day Program and Housing Program is to help youth build the skills needed for self-sufficiency and to be successful in their plan to exit street life.
On-Call Youth Specialists must be available to fill any shift, days, swing, or overnight. 24-hour availability is required.

The TNBH Case Manager will work in Cascade AIDS Project's Housing & Supportive Services Department to provide services to a caseload of 15 individuals who identify as transgender and/or nonbinary regardless of HIV status which are identified through Coordinated Access, experiencing homelessness and may have co-occurring mental health and substance use issues.

Who You Are

Through this program, Crisis Response Specialists assist police officers with situational de-escalation and crisis intervention as co-responders. BHU resources also provide emergency responders with additional options to divert individuals to behavioral health resources as an alternative to incarceration which have not been readily available in the past. BHU members cultivate and maintain professional relationships with organizations in the community that provide behavioral health resources to direct and refer individuals to the appropriate community resources. These resources could include in-patient and outpatient mental health and SUD services, respite care, primary care clinics, and other support services. BHU members work closely with the department's Community Outreach Coordinator addressing individuals in crisis due to homelessness. BHU members also assist the department's Community Outreach Coordinator in following up on individuals who are in the Therapeutic Court program. In addition to responding with officers to incidents, the Crisis Response Specialists have access to view pending police calls for service within the computer-aided-dispatch system. When it is safe and appropriate, Crisis Response Specialists may respond to incidents involving community members experiencing a behavioral health crisis without a police officer present.
This position is Grant funded and is a limited duration position with the possibility of being extended.

* Provide rapid crisis interview & assessment to assist individuals with mental health, substance use, homelessness and other social service needs.

Youth Engagement Specialists facilitate the day-to-day services offered in the Day Services Program and are responsible for both individual and group work with culturally diverse youth. Provides patient-centered, trauma-informed, short-term urgent and emergent behavioral health services in adult and pediatric emergency settings across the health continuum.
