Actively participating in other team meetings when necessary to address specific student and parent concerns. Collaborating with education and social services professionals (for example wrap- around, probation officers, court systems) to develop appropriate agency services for students and their families. Providing case management functions for students, which include but are not limited to, coordination of parent meetings, emergency transportation requests, and coordination with therapists outside the school setting. Collaborating and consulting with teachers, parents/guardians, district personnel, and service providers to find effective solutions to learning and behavior problems; always establishing and maintaining effective public relations and projecting a positive company image. Ensuring the use of positive social skill teaching methods by conducting monthly direct observation of classroom staff's implementation of IEP goals and/or Behavior Intervention Plans/ Treatment Plans. Providing guidance, consultation, and assistance to teachers in the development of classroom schedules, maintenance of student data systems and facilitation of student transition plans to assure appropriate schedules and services based on each student's Individual Education Plan (IEP) and/or other applicable goals. Assessing student progress through consistent review of classroom data collection and recording systems and providing applicable training and guidance to classroom staff accordingly in addressing student behavioral needs. Conducting crisis assessments and contacting the appropriate authorities if needed to ensure that emergency intervention is provided to students. Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining an IL professional educator license (PEL) school support personnel endorsement. Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company approved crisis management (PCM) training. Prior experience and/or knowledge in special education services and compliance, particularly for students with severe learning disabilities, emotional disturbance and/or behavioral disorders. Well-versed in applied behavior analysis (ABA) including positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS), functional behavior analysis (FBA) and behavior intervention plans (BIP's). Proven success in developing and implementing effective intervention plans for students with diverse needs, preferably in an alternative, special education and/or behavioral health program setting. Essential Functions: 1. Monitor bail conditions of persons ordered by the Court into the Intoxicated Driver Intervention Program to include scheduling and providing weekly supervision in the office. 2. Draft accurate and complete written reports to the court to include regular updates as well as non-compliance reports. 3. Conduct and record random drug testing on persons served across all Waukesha Court Service programs as required. 4. Work as a team, sharing all aspects of caseload responsibilities, to include but not limited to: conducting intakes, writing court letters, obtaining essential court case information, ongoing CCAP checks, treatment updates, meeting with persons served, and staffing cases. 5. Salary Information The classification title for this position is Initial Assessment Specialist or Initial Assessment Specialist Senior. The starting salary is between $27.00 and $33.00 per hour ($56,160 and $68,640 annually), depending on qualifications. Pay for current State of WI employees will be based on the compensation plan in effect at the time of the appointment. Pay for current state employees who are transferring will be determined based upon the pay on transfer rules (higher level duties or equity) as outlined in the compensation plan in effect at the time of appointment. The pay schedule/range is 12-63 (senior) and 12-64 (entry). A one-year probationary period may be required. This position includes: * Overtime pay (hourly pay x 1.5 for working over 40 hours in a standard work week), when position necessitates. * Night and weekend differential of $0.80/hr. Night differential is applicable when working before 6:00 a.m. and/or after 6:00 p.m. * Eligibility for position advancement to Senior level after approximately 14 -18 months of service (includes a pay increase). * "On call" rate of $125 per weekday shift and $150 per weekend and holiday shift, in addition to hourly pay for any hours worked during the shift. "On call" includes rotational and voluntary sign-ups. * A reimbursement of $.51 per mile driven in your personal vehicle, for necessary work-related activities. * Future increases, in accordance with the Governor's Compensation Plan. Job Details Due to the nature of the position, final candidates may be required to allow DCF to conduct a security background check to determine whether the circumstances of any pending charges or convictions would be substantially related to the job being filled. Qualifications Minimally qualified applicants will have: * Experience, training and/or education in social welfare, social science, or related field (which may include law enforcement, emergency medical or fire services, child and family welfare, counseling, psychology, health education, behavioral health, etc.). * Experience creating (drafting) written reports or assessments. * Effective oral communication skills. * Experience handling competing priorities. * Experience making unbiased decisions. Well-qualified applicants will have: * Associate degree or higher in social welfare, social science, or related field (which may include law enforcement, child and family welfare, counseling, psychology, health education, behavioral health, etc.) * Experience and/or formal training interpreting and applying social welfare-related laws and regulations. * Experience working in a call center environment. * Experience or training in interviewing diverse populations (which may include families, parents, and children) to gather information and make recommendations. * Experience handling stressful situations and/or de-escalating situations. * Experience investigating allegations of child abuse or neglect and managing a case load independently. * Experience using a case management database, such as EWISACWIS.
