Job Summary: Responsible for providing supervision to one SBC team which is composed of 4
case planners, 1 case aide, and additional support staff providing evidence based services to families
in Queens who are child welfare involved or at risk of child welfare involvement.

Essential Functions
• Provides weekly supervision and administrative supervision to SBC case planners.
• Provides individual supervision focusing on case planner development and utilization of the
model.
• Conducts reviews of cases of each supervisee to ensure adherence to performance
standards and procedures and in compliance with ACS/OCFS mandates.
• Continuous assessment of safety and risk of each youth in the home in accordance with ACS
policy.
• Assist in coordination of special projects and outreach for program development.
• Assist in the interviewing process of potential candidates for case planner position.
• Orientate new staff to program policy and procedures.
• Participates in case conferences as well as SBC and required ACS
training.
• Other duties assigned by the Director.
Qualifications
• MSW required, or equivalent in related field, license preferred.
• 2-3 years supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience with SBC model required, certification preferred.
• Experience with Connections and PROMIS required.
• Demonstrated ability to create a positive work environment and foster staff development
required.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; computer literate.
• Bilingual preferred.

Job Description

Job Overview:The Casework Supervisor is responsible for supervision of staffing and oversight of direct service programs. This oversees quality control for both service provision and contractual compliance. This includes overseeing new arrivals and the provision of core services within required timeframes, maintaining program compliance, coordinating case file reviews, completing program reports, and overseeing the distribution and reconciliation of client funds. The Casework Supervisor also participates, as required, in program planning and staff development through coordinating local training, onboarding new staff, conducting annual performance evaluations, and building and maintaining community partnerships.

Major Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Program Oversight

+ Supervise program staff to ensure that all core services are provided within the required timeframes, including Cultural Orientation, health screenings, enrollment in benefits, enrollment in schooling, family budgets and referral to job placement programming and English as an Other Language service;

+ Ensure clients are placed in safe, appropriate, permanent housing as efficiently as possible. Ensure housing procedures are followed per PRM and IRC guidance; Regularly visit IRC housing sites for quality assurance;

+ Ensure use of external funds are applied as much as possible to offset housing costs. Track use of funds;

+ Conduct regular and timely case file reviews with team members; Ensure compliance with case file documentation and reporting requirements;

+ Provide training and dissemination of program updates of donor requirements through on-going review of the Cooperative Agreement and organizational announcements;

+ Oversee allocations and complete assurances;

+ Oversee Minor cases, including documentation, home visits, and SRC letters;

+ Assist with providing data and reports for local leadership and IRC HQ, including annual data match, housing audits, and other reports, as requested;

+ Meet with clients regularly to ensure positive experience and to regularly receive client voice and feedback; Support client grievance when appropriate;

+ Oversee program spending, flex funds, and required funds distribution. Reconcile spending for all arrivals;

Supervision

+ Meet regularly (once or more times a week) with staff to assign duties and ensure that tasks are completed;

+ Coordinate team direct service meetings; ensure communication and collaboration across departments;

+ Supervise direct service staff, Interpreters and Casework Assistants, including recruitment, onboarding, and oversight which includes onboarding, training and support of new hires, performance evaluations, and related HR tasks;

+ Ensure all staff have updated development plans and work to ensure appropriate diversity, equity and inclusion measures are implemented;

+ Approve timesheets and overtime.

Community Engagement

+ Work with team members to utilize referral systems for participants to access outside services;

+ Work with volunteer coordinator to establish volunteer opportunities related to case management; Ensure team is effectively using and managing interns and volunteers;

+ Represent in internal and external meetings, as necessary.

Job Requirements:

+ Undergraduate degree with an emphasis in Social Work or an equivalent field of study; equivalent experience may be substituted;

+ Three to four years of relevant work experience. A significant portion of this experience should include responsibilities in social services, humanitarian relief, public service, or other not-for-profit environment;

+ 2 years of supervisory experience preferred;

+ A proven record of increasingly responsible roles in a mission and outcome driven environment;

+ Highly organized self-starter with proven success handling multiple priorities, making critical decisions and delivering results in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines;

+ Demonstrated success achieving goals and communicating effectively a multi-cultural environment;

+ Strong communications skills, both oral and written, are required for this role;

+ Fluent in English, both spoken and written; other language ability in one of the predominant languages of the local client base preferred;

+ Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook);

+ Commitment to DEI principles and an inclusive work environment;

+ Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle with current insurance, and the ability to travel regularly throughout the service delivery area.

Working Environment:

+ A combination of standard office environment and 'field' time in and around the service delivery area.
