CASHIER Assist in developing a store atmosphere focused on creating and exceeding the highest customer service, safety and cleanliness goals. Instill in others the daily goal of accomplishing the Renfroe's mission statement. Essential Job Functions: Complete daily task to ensure that customers feel welcome and appreciated when they enter the store. Actively greet, engage and assist customers during the checkout process. Process customer transactions through the check lane with the utmost respect for the customer and the items in which they are purchasing. Uphold the integrity of the items the customer is purchasing throughout the entire checkout process. Understand the Point of Sale (POS) system, and how to properly handle various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP, WIC and coupons according to company policy. Understand and adhere to the company's limits on cash shortages and/or overages and work honestly and effectively to control loss. Understand and adhere to guidelines on restricted sale items due to age. Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator. Be familiar with all store safety practices and help to prevent any unsafe conditions for customers and fellow employees. Adhere to all local, state and federal laws, and company guidelines. Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation. Physical requirements include but may not be limited to standing long periods of time, walking, bending, stretching, pushing, pulling or continually using your fingers or wrist.
