The Opportunity
The Part-time Retail Associate performs management-assigned duties, which may include but may not be limited to, stocking and maintaining a store section, carry-out services and store cleaning.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned or required:

Selection Procedures
Civil Service Rule 10 - Section 3 - Eligibility for Promotional Examinations
To compete in a promotional examination, an employee must:
A. Meet the minimum qualifications of the class on or before the final filing date for filing applications.
B. Meet one of the following qualifying service requirements:
1. Have permanent status in the Classified Service.
2. Probationary, part-time, or temporary employees who have worked a minimum of 1040 hours in the previous 12 months or previous calendar year.
3. Exempt employees who have worked a minimum of 2,080 continuous and consecutive hours.

The Opportunity

* Cleans and maintains sanitation standards in all interior and exterior areas of store and parking lot as directed by store management

* Performs basic bookkeeping duties, including recording lost/damaged goods and store supplies using appropriate tools

Multi-Purpose Clerk - Grocery (Night Crew) - 1270 Broadway, Placerville, CA 95667
Job Summary
The Multi-Purpose Clerk - Night Crew is responsible for a variety of clerk positions, and workers are cross-trained and internally certified for these positions on an ongoing basis. Areas of responsibilities include stocking grocery store shelves, pricing new items, offloading shipment, unwrapping, rotating and packing boxes on an overnight shift. Other duties include order writing, Freshness/Quality (code checking), Item to tag integrity, report all risks or safety issues to management, ensure proper temperatures in cases/coolers, maintain inventory accuracy, and operate check stand. The Multi-Purpose Clerk - Night Crew practices maintaining a clean work area, orderly and free from safety hazards.
Responsibilities
* Receive, stock, display, pricing and face product.
* Break down loads including unwrapping, rotating and packing boxes
* Order writing, item to tag integrity
* Report all risks or safety issues to management
* Ensure proper temperature in cases/coolers
* Maintain inventory accuracy
* Minimal checking on cash register.
* Sweep and mop sales floor, front end, back rooms, and refrigerated areas.
* Know location of MSDS binder and information about all materials used during work
* May operate forklift if authorized and certified.
* May operate commercial baler if authorized to compress cardboard.
* Perform other duties as assigned
Hiring pay range: $17.15 - 26.20

Experience
Minimum Years of Experience: Three months or any equivalent experience
Education
Required: High School or GED and/or equivalent experience/training
Other Requirements (i.e. Travel Expectations)
* Availability to work a variety of retail hour shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
* Availability to work overnight shift
* Must be at least 18 years of age.
* Ability to lift 40 pounds without assistance and may lift up to 85 lbs on occasion
* Ability to carry up to 80 lbs on occasion
* Ability to push up to 85 lbs on occasion
* Ability to pull up to 92 lbs on occasion
* Requires standing and other physical movements on a frequent basis;
* Ability to work in temperature levels that may fluctuate depending on the specific area of the store workers are functioning, and workers are required to work in cold room and freezer units.
* Ability to operate tools inclusive of step stool, carts, register, safety cutter, rolling ladder, food preparation equipment, ovens, warmers, food mixers, meat cutting instruments, various carts including pallet jacks, packaging components and equipment, and cleaning supplies.
