Key Responsibilities: * Ensure that all documentation is submitted timely, as required. * Check documents, make necessary corrections, and distribute them to corresponding customers to meet their respective deadlines. * Collects Bills of Ladings for all assigned customers; check the information on all documentation for accuracy and disseminates for processing. * Inform all customers of cargo arrivals/departures, via email/fax with an arrival/departure notice and a copy of the bill of lading. Securing confirmation and file in the master file. * Secure original bills of lading properly endorsed, and delivery orders. * Check that cargo is properly released. * Coordinate and enter all data into the Stevedore Terminal Management System (STMS). * Heavy phone communications answering any questions and informing customers of situations. * Performs other related duties as assigned. Candidate Requirements: * Minimum two (2) years experience in Customer Service and Import Documentation in the Maritime industry required. * High school diploma or equivalent. * Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Word, Excel, Outlook * Moderate to advanced typing skills and 10-key by touch (40-45 wpm) * Advanced communication skills in English in order to communicate with customers. * Ability to follow procedures and instructions. * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and fellow employees. * Ability to exercise independent judgment within established systems and procedures. * Possess organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and be detail-oriented. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: * Ability to work a flexible schedule, extended hours, holidays, and/or weekends as needed. * The employee is required to sit for long periods of time and move to and from other locations, within the office and terminal. * The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. * Work is performed primarily in the office. * The employee is occasionally exposed to dust, fumes, and airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. * The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. * Must be able to work extended hours, weekends, or holidays, on occasion.
