Job Description
DEALER TRAINEE -
Train to deal games according to standard rules, company procedures, and applicable gaming regulations.
Both full and part-time positions are available after the successful completion of the course.
* Train to shuffle and deal cards accurately to customers.
* Train to quickly and accurately calculate the face value of cards.
* Train to exchange cash for the proper denominations of chips.
* Train to pick up losing bets and cards from the customer's betting square.
* Train to pay winning bets and place chips in the appropriate betting square.
* Train to complete any required forms, records, and documents.
The average dealer pay is $25.07, combining hourly wages and tip rates from 2023 and 2024.
Qualifications
* Train to deal assigned games in an accurate manner.
* Must be able to stand or sit for extended periods of time (approximately one continuous hour at a time).
* Must be able to work in Casino environment.
* Must be able to bend and reach across gaming tables
* Applicants must be 18 and must be able to obtain a current gaming license.
* Length of training depends on game type and total training hours attended per day.
* Successful completion of Dealer School required for continued employment as a Dealer.

Poker Dealer Training Class
Class Days: Tuesday through Saturday
Class Times: 3:00PM - 7:00PM
Dates: January 6th thru January 31st
Put on your game face! JACK Cleveland Casino is excited to announce Poker Dealer Training Academy is back with FREE Dealer training! The academy is designed to provide qualified applicants with the skills necessary to embark on a career in the gaming industry and, upon graduation, the opportunity to interview for a Poker Dealer (Part-Time) at JACK Cleveland Casino. Completion of the course does not guarantee employment. Gaining entry into the program does not guarantee a position with JACK Cleveland Casino or JACK Entertainment.
The Poker Academy is conveniently located at our Table Games Training Center at JACK Cleveland Casino. Training will consist of Hold'em and Omaha.
All classes are free of charge and taught by experienced, licensed and dedicated instructors who will professionally prepare students to enter the fast-paced casino industry. Enrollees who successfully complete the course will be provided the opportunity to audition for positions at JACK Cleveland Casino.
Space is limited. Must be 21. Interviews and basic math tests will be administered prior to dealer school registration.
Guidelines:
All dates and times for training will be determined based on enrollment.
Participants will be paid $15.00/hour to attend these classes.
Upon successful completion of training and Poker Dealer audition, employment as a dealer is not guaranteed.
If offered a position, acceptance of conditional considerations will apply.
Available Shifts Will Be Late Evenings and Nights upon successful completion of the Poker Dealer School.

Role Responsibilities:
Delivers great customer service by dealing all games offered by JACK Cleveland Casino in a friendly and helpful manner with an upbeat/positive attitude.
Assists in training guests not familiar with poker.
Promotes poker games and serves guests while standing on dead games.
Demonstrates an effective working knowledge of dealing policies and gaming procedures
Deals games in accordance with internal controls, Ohio Casino Control Commission regulations and company policy.
Able to maintain applicable departmental dealer efficiency metrics.
Informs Supervisor and/or Manager of unnatural or irregular play and disputes on game
Always presents oneself as a credit to JACK Entertainment and encourages others to do the same
Safeguard casino assets.
Responsible for the protection and control of the game.
Conducts the games in accordance with Company policies and ensures compliance with company policies, procedures and gaming regulatory requirements, Verify and sign for Fills, Credits, Marker Issuance, and all documentation's listed in JACK Entertainment Internal Controls. Handling guest transactions and notifying Floor Supervisor of any irregularities.
Exchange currency for gaming chips and pay or collect bets according to house rules in an accurate manner.
Advises Floor Supervisor of any disputes or arguments that may arise during the game.
Support and maintain JACK Entertainment's courtesy guidelines at all times.
Promote outstanding guest relations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Demonstrates an effective working knowledge of dealing policies and gaming procedures.
Able to maintain applicable departmental dealer efficiency metrics.
Presents oneself in a polished, professional and service-minded way and encourages others to do the same.
