Cassano's Pizza King was one of the first in the nation to franchise its stores in 1955.
Pizza King got its start as a small business in 1956.
Longtime employee Don Schutz bought the business from Wendell in 1966 and dramatically increased its reach.
Corporate head quarters moved into a new facility at 1700 E. Stroop Road in Kettering, Ohio in 1968.
Early in 1974 a New York consulting firm was asked to research Cassano’s and recommend the direction Cassano’s should take in the future.
Cassano Sr. retired in 1986 and his son Vic Cassano Jr. bought the company.
Amy and Parke Swaim decided to make significant changes to the restaurant's decor when they bought it from the previous owner in 2011.
In 2016, more than 60 years after it was founded, Cassano's Pizza King was honored by the State of Ohio with a historical marker placed outside the company headquarters in Kettering.
