What Will You Do Perform fiber splicing, testing, and troubleshooting on ISP, OSP, and aerial builds Read and interpret splice plans, schematics, and work orders Operate OTDRs, fusion splicers, iOLM, and related test equipment Complete detailed documentation, test results, and project closeouts Collaborate with project managers, customers, and teammates to ensure high-quality results What You Will Need 3+ years of fiber splicing experience (OSP, ISP, or aerial) Candidates must be local to Maine, or have plans to relocate Solid understanding of multiple OSP/ISP splice enclosures across various manufacturers Advanced skills in cable prep, single and mass fusion splicing, and terminations Strong troubleshooting abilities, including fiber characterization and advanced testing/documentation Familiarity with OTDR, iOLM, power meters, and ribbon splicer functions Basic understanding of splice/overlay schematics and software such as ARC/GIS, Telvent, and Trimble Ability to travel through Maine / Northeast area in a company vehicle Strong teamwork and communication skills with the ability to train less experienced technicians Valid driver's license High school graduate or equivalent required What We Offer: This is a travel-based role - you'll leave directly from your home in a company vehicle and head to the job site. Drive and operate a vehicle, and/or bucket. Environmental conditions: exposure is heat, cold, dust, wet, vibration and very loud noise. Repeated and frequent ability to lift, from floor to above head 80 lbs continuously. Requires the ability to sit for extended periods, stand, bend, walk, communicate via telephone, computer and/or face-to-face contact, vision to monitor, and use basic office equipment such as a personal computer, copier, and fax machines regularly during the course of work.
