**Machine Tool Repair Technicians** needed at The Large Power Systems Division located in Lafayette, IN **.** You will have responsibility to mechanically troubleshoot and repair complex domestic and foreign machine tools and related equipment, that perform milling, drilling, and grinding functions to cast iron and steel components. Applicant must possess the ability to troubleshoot and repair the several different types of machines and components.
**Job Duties/ Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:**
+ Examples of equipment to be repaired: Okuma, G&L, Mazak, Lamb, Landis (grinders), Waldrich Coburg, Ingersoll, Toyoda, DMG and a variety of others in the machine shop.
+ Example of related equipment: P&H cranes and hoists, conveyors, furnaces, washers, ABB robots.
+ Possess the ability to install, repair, and maintain hydraulic systems, ball screws, precision bearings, scraping principles, and a variety of other controllers on the machines in the machine shop.
+ Read and understand machine tool prints, work with tight tolerances.
+ Thorough understanding of leveling and alignment of machines, alignment of shafts, gearing, welding, lubrication principles, pipefitting, and tube bending.
+ Possess basic electrical skills and the ability to operate basic tools to complete the machine repair job.
+ Self-starter and self-motivated individual who works well individually in a team environment
+ Applicant must be willing to work overtime opportunities to support production demands.
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ This solicitation is not for a mechanical apprenticeship program.
+ Applicants must have successfully completed an approved mechanical apprenticeship program or possess extensive experience in the mechanical repair of machine tools and related equipment.
**Top Candidate will also have:**
+ Skilled and experienced with preventative and predictive maintenance practices and technology.
+ Metal fabrication skills.
+ Familiar with ball screw repair, repair of precision spindles, and ability to do precision laser alignments on machine tools.

**Physical Requirements:**
+ Candidates for all positions must have the ability to work in a fast pace, medium to heavy duty assembly, technical environment.

+ All positions also require the ability to lift **40 pounds** and withstand frequent repetitive movement of hands with a variety of tooling.

Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, schematics, and process specifications to visualize layouts and guide work

Collaborate with production departments and maintenance shop personnel to ensure maintenance requirements are completed in timely fashion
Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work environment practicing 6S principles, environmental sustainability, and continuous improvement related to maintenance processes and procedures
Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks, forklifts, scissor or boom lifts to position equipment and parts during the installation, set-up, and repair of machinery
Maintain all equipment by performing routine repair work, daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual maintenance
Perform minor repairs which should include, mechanical, plumbing, building and grounds to keep the entire facility in working order
Coordinate any electrical repairs with electrician or contracted Electrician

To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Minimum four (4) years' experience as a mechanic, maintenance mechanic, or millwright.
Ability to accurately read and interpret schematics, blueprints and other related drawings
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals

SUMMARY: Performs a variety of tasks leading a team in general maintenance of landscape and grounds; maintains and performs repairs to grounds maintenance equipment (including playgrounds and equipment); performs duties related to the upkeep and beautification of 9-R district campuses and outside sports facilities.

Growing season duties include:
Overseeing and maintaining grounds in clean, safe, and orderly manner
Mowing, edging, aerating lawns and border areas.

Pruning shrubs and trees up to a maximum height of fifteen feet.
Using a blower or broom to sweep sidewalks.
Maintaining in-ground drains and culverts.
Loading, transporting, and unloading equipment or materials from department vehicles to work sites..
Hauling and disposing of landscape cuttings and debris.
Cultivating and renovating designated planting areas.
Maintaining aesthetics of landscapes and grounds.
Replacing bark and mulch in planters and landscaping as needed.
Installing or replacing turf, trees, ornamental plants, shrubs, ground covers, ands annuals, to maintain a natural landscape appearance
Assisting in planning and updating landscape throughout the districts sites
Maintaining landscape irrigation systems including repairing or replacing sprinkler heads, valves, lines, and adjusting irrigation timers; assisting with repairs or installations of paving materials for pathways, concrete and rock retaining walls, wood, concrete and/or rock borders and various posts, slabs, drains, and culverts.
Operating and maintaining ground maintenance equipment such as lawn mower, edger, sweeper, string trimmer, rototiller, chainsaw, power hedge trimmer, sprayers, and basic gardening hand tools.
Maintaining hoses, supplies, tools, and equipment in proper condition and repair.
Maintaining service request records, equipment parts listings, equipment oil change logs, equipment service/repair logs, seed usage logs, irrigation repair logs, and records of supplies used.
Mixing and applying approved herbicides for weed mitigation; mixes and applies fertilizers; performs minor pest management; maintains stock of fertilizer and plant food supplies; maintains current Weekly Review Sheet (WRS) for potentially hazardous materials; maintains logs and files pesticide use reports.
Assisting Custodial Supervisor with upkeep of district playgrounds.
Assisting in other minor maintenance tasks as required.
Non-Growing seasons duties include:
Operating and maintaining snow removal equipment.
Performing snow removal
Performing equipment maintenance and repairs
Assisting with duties associated with Facilities and/or Custodial Department.
Year-Round duties may include:
Leading the landscape and grounds team.
Assisting in creating work schedules and daily routines.
Assisting in supervising and training landscape and grounds staff
Playground maintenance
EDUCATION AND TRAINING: High school diploma or equivalent. Must be at least 18 years of age. Any combination of education, training, and experience necessary to perform the duties and responsibilities as described, including specialized knowledge and work experience in landscaping and horticultural techniques.
EXPERIENCE: Experience in grounds work and general maintenance preferred
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS: Valid driver's license permitting operation of vehicles in Colorado required. Criminal Background Check required for hire. Has or is willing to obtain chemical application certification within 90 days of employment at the cost of the district.
TECHNICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
Knowledge of turf management and maintenance practices and techniques including water conservation, horticulture and methods of planting, cultivation, pruning, and caring for plants, trees, and lawns.
Knowledge of sprinkler and irrigation system design, installation, operation, and sports field maintenance.
Knowledge of general operation and maintenance of landscape and grounds maintenance equipment and tools. Understands proper and safe application of fertilizers, herbicides, and chemical controls.
Ability to keep proper records.
Knowledgeable about using pesticides in schools and practices related to safe handling, storage and disposal of hazardous materials.

Possesses skill and ability to install and repair sprinkler systems, operate hand and power tools, and other associated grounds maintenance equipment.

Major Duties
Under general supervision, the Facilities Maintenance Mechanic performs preventive and responsive maintenance tasks, inspects mechanical rooms, and ensures operational efficiency of campus HVAC systems. What you'll do on a typical day
The Physical Plant Services Technician is responsible for assisting with the general maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment. The Technician reports to the Supervisor, Physical Plant Services as part of the Financial and Administrative Services Division of the College. Physical Plant Services team members are scheduled to work 10 hours per day on a four-day per week schedule. Hours are generally 6:00 am - 4:30 pm and are flexible depending on College needs. Key Responsibilities
* Operations, Maintenance, Repairs - Routine maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment including the interior and exterior of the various HRL buildings and grounds. Duties will be many and varied each day and will involve skills from the various trades of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, locksmith, roofing, tile, masonry, concrete, and equipment repair.
* General Tasks - Operate and maintain a variety of power and or hand tools and equipment. Assist in gathering materials. Upon completion of work, clean up job sites and return materials, equipment, tools, or radios, to designated storage areas. Clean, maintain and service tools and equipment used in the performance of duties; report damaged tools and equipment.
* Administrative Tasks - Maintain accurate hours worked on each job. Submit completed trouble tickets or FSR to supervisor or designee for closing out project. Complete Material Transfer Forms and submit to supervisor for approval. Request tools and equipment, materials, parts, etc. and submit to supervisor.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
The ideal candidate will have a solid working knowledge of materials, equipment, and methods, along with the ability to operate, maintain, and inspect a variety of power and hand tools. They will demonstrate the ability to identify issues or signs of damage to both interior and exterior surfaces and will be capable of working independently or leading crews to complete assignments effectively. A strong team player, the candidate will collaborate well with colleagues and respond sensitively to student needs. They will consistently exercise sound judgment, maintain a safe and clean work environment, and follow standard safety practices. The ideal candidate will be punctual, dependable, and prepared to work in challenging conditions such as dirt and noise. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential, including the ability to convey clear, grammatically correct information and complete accurate, easy-to-understand forms and reports.

General Definition of Work
Performs intermediate skilled trades work, repairing and maintaining County rights of way, drainage ways and related facilities, operates a variety of motorized equipment, and related work as apparent or assigned. Essential Functions

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Responsible for the completion of inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on process systems, including process instruments, analyzers, and control valves, in a 24-hour PSM facility.
Perform commissioning and startup activities including, instrument loop inspection, loop check, configuration, calibration, and testing. Mechanical installation, functional checking, stock testing of final control elements.
Safety-driven mentality with dedication to process safety systems integrity and availability.
Analytical equipment expertise, troubleshooting, calibration, documentation for both monitoring and supervisory systems (mass-spec, CEMS, O2, NOx, infrared, conductivity, and GC).
Practical knowledge of Electrical Systems, including Motor Starters, MCCs, VFD, and 480-volt three phase systems.
Support and maintenance of DCS, SIS, and PLCs based systems.
Execute preventative maintenance, testing and calibrations as required by the Quality and Process Critical Instrumentation programs or other established procedures
Correctly and accurately complete required paperwork, correctly documenting all maintenance actions, parts, and time.
Qualifications/Requirements
3+ Years of hands-on maintenance experience as an I&E maintenancetechnician in a PSM manufacturing environment to work as a high level I&E Technician.
Must complete NCCER Industrial Maintenance E&I Certification during first 6 months.
Ability and willingness to work a shift schedule and respond to off-hours calls.
Ability and willingness to complete Mechanical Maintenance Tasks as required.
Must qualify for and utilize specialized personal protective equipment as required for the position including arc flash, respirator, fall protection etc.
Have good mobility, with the ability to climb stairs and ladders and occasionally required work at heights.

Position Summary
Perform routine and preventative maintenance at the University campus with a strong focus on electrical systems. Respond to service requests from faculty, staff, and students, and complete assigned work orders from facilities supervisors. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, inspecting, installing, and maintaining electrical systems and components across campus buildings to ensure safe and reliable operation.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Service Calls & Emergency Response
· Provide responsive, customer-focused service. Prioritize and complete work orders efficiently.
· Assess issues and determine when escalation or specialized support is needed.
General Maintenance
· Assist with building systems and duties as needed, including basic carpentry, painting, light HVAC, plumbing, and electrical troubleshooting.
· Provide event setup support when requested.
Electrical Systems
· Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, devices, and fixtures in accordance with local codes and University standards.
· Service and inspect electrical panels, breakers, and disconnects across campus facilities.
· Work with lighting systems, including troubleshooting ballasts, drivers, and fixtures.
· Perform maintenance and repair on exterior lighting systems, including driving and operating a bucket truck.
· Run conduit and pull wire, ensuring proper sizing for loads and applications.
· Replace and size fuses and troubleshoot motor overloads and control circuits.
· Support electrical aspects of HVAC and mechanical systems where applicable.
· Read and interpret electrical diagrams and schematics to diagnose and resolve issues.
· Maintain accurate service records and perform preventative maintenance routines.
Working Conditions
· Require standing, bending, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working on ladders or at heights.
· Work may occur indoors and outdoors, in varying weather and temperature conditions.
· Exposure to pool chemicals, noise, and mechanical equipment is expected.
· May be required to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts for emergencies.
Required Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Valid Class E driver's license (or equivalent from another state).
· Must be available 24/7 for emergencies and willing to work overtime.
Preferred Qualifications
Technical training or certification in electrical maintenance, commercial/residential wiring, or related fields preferred.
Five or more years of experience maintaining electrical systems in a commercial or institutional environment, with knowledge of a variety of voltages, electrical distribution systems, motor controls, and lighting maintenance.
Position requires background checks and other applicable pre-employment checks.
Hourly rate is $32.87 per hour
