**Machine Tool Repair Technicians** needed at The Large Power Systems Division located in Lafayette, IN **.** You will have responsibility to mechanically troubleshoot and repair complex domestic and foreign machine tools and related equipment, that perform milling, drilling, and grinding functions to cast iron and steel components. Applicant must possess the ability to troubleshoot and repair the several different types of machines and components.
**Job Duties/ Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:**
+ Examples of equipment to be repaired: Okuma, G&L, Mazak, Lamb, Landis (grinders), Waldrich Coburg, Ingersoll, Toyoda, DMG and a variety of others in the machine shop.

+ Possess the ability to install, repair, and maintain hydraulic systems, ball screws, precision bearings, scraping principles, and a variety of other controllers on the machines in the machine shop.

In this role, our technicians work remote, travel up to 3 consecutive weeks at a time, and will work additional hours and occasional weekends when supporting client commissioning activities. **What you'll do:**
As a Utility Protection & Control (P&C) Technician I, you'll assist the Lead Technician in overseeing technical operations and documentation, including work plans, isolation plans and functional test plans. As a P&C Technician I, you'll collaborate closely with the Lead Technician, acting as a crucial safeguard to identify and correct any errors from design or installation, protecting employees, equipment and the integrity of transmission and distribution systems.
**In this position you will;**
+ Work around energized "In-Service" electrical equipment to perform testing and commissioning activities on reliability upgrades in energized "brownfield" transmission stations.
+ Assist in the development of isolation plans & procedures for the removal of existing equipment such as protective relays, relay panels, AC/DC panels, battery systems, breakers, transformers, SSVTs, CCVTs, PTs, CTs, and linear couplers.
+ Communicate technical information to non-technical personnel, educate customers, and present information to internal and external customers.
+ Assist with all aspects of testing of substation devices and equipment.
+ Identify and resolve design errors.
+ Directly witness or perform critical tests such as DC functional trip testing prior to energization and in-service.
**Position Success Criteria:**
+ Successfully complete and maintain compliance with Eaton's safety qualification program and policy. This includes role-applicable portions of the EESS Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) program and any required annual re-certifications thereafter.
+ Submit to periodic customer required background and drug screenings.

What you'll do:

Job Overview:
The Field Service Technician for Ingersoll Rand's Compression Systems and Services Division serves customers by installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all makes of rotary screw and reciprocating and/or Centac and ECC air compressors, along with additional compressed air system components. You will use precision measuring tools for diagnostic troubleshooting of compressed air equipment. In addition, you need to have knowledge of all operations and parts manuals associated with all equipment.
Responsibilities:
In addition to performing preventative maintenance on Ingersoll Rand compressed air equipment, our service techs will interact with customers to address existing and unanticipated equipment concerns. Collaborate with Service Coordinator on ordering and gathering parts and supplies necessary to complete installations and repairs. All service technicians will assist and train apprentices and Field Service Technicians.
* Effectively communicates verbally and in writing with customers and co-workers.
* Provides technical assistance on equipment pre-commissioning and start-ups, installations, and repairs of compressed air systems. Including "hands-on" work to assure equipment operates to customer's requirement with limited guidance from the Master Technician.
* Increases Ingersoll Rand customers awareness of how Ingersoll Rand products, services, and solutions, such as Preventative Maintenance, Diagnostics, Audits and Leak Detection can benefit their operations.
Requirements:
* 2 years+ experience of troubleshooting industrial/commercial mechanical systems.
* Must possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to: DUI in the previous 5 years, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
* Every service technician is required to be on-call, but you will not be on-call for the first 90 days to get used to the schedule. This is shared with every service tech, and it requires being available 24/7 for the 1-week duration where you will go to customer sites. On-call weeks can be as often as every 4 weeks or greater than 4 weeks, but that will be determined by the hiring manager.
* This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, and kneeling. It requires employees to regularly lift and or move weight limits in line with the safety policy.

Early TRL evaluation of heat transfer and cooling performance of combustors, turbines, and exhaust components
Evaluation of thermal performance of fielded products

In the role of Technician - Thermal Technology Lab, you will be responsible to work with engineers in component test evaluation efforts within the Thermal Technology Lab, with core responsibilities to include:
Support design of pilot test apparatus
Own the procurement, build-up, sealing, instrumentation, assembly and article preparation of lab test rigs
Independently run lab tests and perform necessary data checks to ensure data quality
Support hardware and software architecture of Data Acquisition Systems
Interface with internal and external shops and vendors, internal functions, and facilities teams
Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with test apparatus.
Coordinate and work closely with teammates to execute lab team objectives
Assist the staff contributor or manager in planning work activity for the organization.
Ownership of development test documentation including facility, rig build, and data sets
Qualifications/Requirements
Associates Degree in a technical field (Comp Science, Aviation Maintenance, Math, Physics) or a high school diploma / GED with 1 year of relevant aviation or test experience.
Ability to lift 25 lbs unassisted.
