General Position Summary: The Assistant Coordinator of Youth Ministry will work in collaboration with the Coordinator of Youth Ministry to assist with envisioning, organizing and overseeing youth ministry events including leading Catechesis, activities, and events as appropriate. Principal Accountabilities: Assist in the implementation of Catechesis and youth ministry classes and events. Assist in the Discipleship of young people, deepening their knowledge and relationship with Christ and His Church. Assist in mentoring YM participants in leadership and evangelization skills. Create and maintain records including but not limited to registration, enrollment, attendance of YM students/participants. Input and maintain data for sacrament preparation programs. Point of contact for scheduling Sacrament Preparation Discernment Interviews. Answer emails and phone calls regarding general questions about the department and its plans and policies. Maintains current records on all youth participating in programs and all youth & adult volunteers (including Safe-Environment information). Serves as a member of the Catechesis and Evangelization team and the parish staff. Attends staff meetings, prayer days and educational days. Primary contact in youth ministry department with Spanish Speaking staff and families.
