Special Diagnostic Testing: * Demonstrates competency in performing all procedures and use of the equipment for CAT Scans as assigned. * Initiates a peripheral IV for patients requiring designated diagnostic testing within the radiology dept in accordance with Hospital policy and as assigned after completion of education and competence demonstration. * Reviews and follows the CT protocol assigned by the Radiologist. * Keep dose as low as possible to achieve a diagnostic exam. * Use the appropriate protocols for adults and pediatric. Administrative: * Uses computer to access reports. * Follows protocols for releasing of images. * Assists with administrative responsibilities of the department to include scheduling appointments, answering the phone, etc. * Performs all quality controls procedures daily as assigned and maintains appropriate logs. * Orders radiology supplies as directed. * Participates in annual surveys and inspections. * Able to teach/aid students. Technologists perform a wide variety of exams from Cardiac CT to 3D Interventional Procedures. As the only Trauma One center in the state of NH, we perform many high acuity CT exams. In addition, we have a Stroke team, and technologists perform CT exams following strict protocol. We also have a dedicated 3D Lab and 2 CTIR Suites, giving CT technologists the opportunity to subspecialize within the CT section. Our CT staff perform at the highest potential of their license. The CT Technologist performs computerized axial tomography procedures and maintains equipment and supplies. We have a strong dedicated team of technologists providing both high quality and high acuity patient care. This is a Full Time, 40hr per week, benefitted position. Monday - Friday 10hr shifts. Under the supervision of the Chief Diagnostic Radiology Technologist, Director of Radiology, Chairman, Manager, or other Leadership, the Radiology Technologist performs diagnostic radiology imaging procedures and related techniques resulting in the interpretation by, or at the request of, a licensed independent practitioner. Follows professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements. Education Graduate of an education program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) Certification, Registration & Licensure Registration required: Current with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist, or registry eligible in accordance with Registry guidelines Certification required: Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification, or equivalent course credentialed by American Heart Association. Licensure required: Licensed and Certified by the NH Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Experience None required. Responsibilities Performs Radiological diagnostic or therapeutic procedures in accordance and within the scope of practice and departmental standards. Assesses pertinent information, prepares and educates patient for procedures and expectations. Completes documentation of patient care and procedure.
