Cavite State University company history timeline

1906

The Cavite State University (CvSU) has its humble beginnings in 1906 as the Indang Intermediate School with the American Thomasites as the first teachers.

The state university was first established by the Thomasites as an intermediate school, named Indang Intermediate School in 1906 with C.E. Workman its first principal.

1915

In 1915, the school had its first Filipino principal, Mariano Mondoñedo.

1927

In 1927, the school was renamed Indang Rural High School, during the incumbency of principal Simeon Madlangsakay.

1958

In recognition of the generosity of Don Severino de las Alas to the community, the province of Cavite and the nation, the name of the institution was changed to Don Severino National Agricultural School in 1958 by a congressional action.

1964

In 1964, the school was converted into a State College by virtue of Republic Act 3917 and became known as Don Severino Agricultural College (DSAC).

1967

In 1967, Santiago M. Rolle was appointed as the first college president.

1970

CCAT was inaugurated on August 8, 1970 and classes started on August 12, 1970 with 27 students of Two-Year Trade Technician Curriculum

1978

Doctor Sotero L. Lasap designed a new logo for DSAC in 1978.

1980

1980 – Implemented the Agricultural Education Outreach Project (AEOP)

1983

1983 – Started the Sanayan sa Kakayahang Agrikultura (SAKA) Project

1993

Revelino F. Apilado took over as Officer-in-Charge until 1993

2000

Petronio N. Carrera became the third CCAT Superintendent until 2000

2001

2001 – Department of Forestry and Environment Science was created

In 2001, Cavite College of Fisheries (CACOF) in Naic, Cavite and Cavite College of Arts and Trade (CCAT) in Rosario, Cavite, were integrated to the University by virtue of CHED Memo No.

2002

In 2002, Cavite College of Fisheries (CACOF) in Naic and Cavite College of Arts and Trade (CCAT) in Rosario were integrated into the Cavite State University system to become the CSU College of Fisheries and the CSU College of Arts and Trade, respectively.

2003

Cavite State University’s vision of being the premier university in historic Cavite, prompted the launching of the College of Business and Entrepreneurship in Imus on August 15, 2003.

2004

In June 2004, CAS started to offer a two-year diploma program in Midwifery wherein graduates shall graduate in Diploma in Midwifery.

2005

In October 18, 2005, a separate College of Nursing with a number of full time faculty members/clinical instructors headed by its first designated dean, Prof.

2006

During the start of second semester AY 2006-07, Prof. de Vera, as Dean continued to realize the vision and mission of the College.

2009

CvSU Rosario Campus offered the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Bachelor of Science in Information TechnologyDoctor Lorna L. Penales took over as Officer-in-Charge of CvSU Rosario Campus until January 2009

2009 – CvSU designated by CHED as Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) Center in Agriculture

2012

In 2012, the college was established as a satellite campus.

2013

Doctor Camilo A. Polinga was designated as Campus Dean starting February 18, 2013

2015

In 2015, CavSU opened its 12th campus in the Municipality of Maragondon, by virtue of an agreement between former Provincial Governor Juanito Victor Remulla and University President Divinia C. Chavez.

2016

Jose P. Lisama was designated as Campus Administrator starting November 2, 2016

2016 – CvSU was designated CHED – Center of Excellence in Agriculture

2018

2018 – CvSU was recognized as Delivering Institution of Graduate Programs in for CHED K-12 Scholars

2022

After a series of consultative meetings and arduous presentation to authorities and stakeholders, the College of Nursing formally conducted the gradual reopening of limited face-to-face, Monday of February 28, 2022.
