Cayuga Community College company history timeline

1953

The State University of New York (SUNY) Board of Trustees approved the establishment of its first community college on April 9, 1953.

1959

The Auburn Community College Alumni Association was founded in 1959 to work actively and effectively to advance the interest of the College, its students, and alumni.

1977

In 1977, Cayuga County assumed sponsorship for the college and it changed its name to Cayuga County Community College.

1982

In 1982 a resolution by the Board of Trustees of the College, reviewed and concurred with by the Association, established the Foundation as the officially designated recipient of all gifts intended for the College.

1987

In 1987 the College signaled a renewed commitment to alumni affairs with the appointment of an alumni director.

1993

In the fall of 1993, the association launched the Foundation’s new multi-year campaign, “Sustaining Excellence: The Campaign for Endowments,” by establishing a $10,000 endowed scholarship fund.

2007

Daniel Paul Larson, D.M.A, joined Cayuga as its seventh president in 2007.

2013

Doctor Gregory T. DeCinque joined Cayuga Community College as Interim President in December 2013.

2015

Doctor Brian M. Durant joined Cayuga Community College as President in August 2015.
