The Respiratory Therapist (RT) will be responsible for assessment, treatment and management of all patients across the age spectrum with breathing abnormalities or imparities. Candidates must possess strong critical thinking and interpersonal skills, work well in a multidisciplinary team environment as well as the ability to work independently. Roles and Responsibilities: Performs all respiratory therapy duties in all patient care areas. Proficient in mechanical ventilation, NIPPV, patient assessment, tracheostomy care, high flow Oxygen therapy, airway stabilization/maintenance, patient education, ABG acquisition and outpatient respiratory procedures. Quickly responds and communicates with nursing and providers regarding changes in patient condition. Performs timely and accurate documentation Actively participates in patient treatment plan and supports multidisciplinary team rounds. Positive attitude with a patient centered care focus and maintains approachable behavior and acts as a resource to others Required Skills and Experience: Education: RRT Experience: New graduates and experienced therapists Licensure: Active New York Respiratory Therapist License Certifications BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP Physical Requirements: Able to stand for long periods of time; requires manual dexterity and good eye-hand coordination. Able to perform light lifting, up to 40 pounds. Location and Travel Requirements: Onsite at Cayuga Medical Center: 101 Dates Drive, Ithaca, NY 14850 Shift: Days/Evenings FLEX.
