In 1949, a Canadian television service was authorized.

1952

1952: The Canadian TV network CBC begins operations.

1967

Also in 1967, the CBC became the official broadcaster for the Pan-American Games in Winnipeg.

1968

1968: Canadian Radio-Television Commission (CRTC) is established as the regulatory and licensing authority.

1969

In 1969, color television was introduced in Canada, and CBC was given authorization for a C$15 million first stage conversion.

1981

In June 2011, Broadsight Systems Inc. was established as a CBC (AMERICA) Corp. subsidiary.

2018

In December 2018, the name of CBC AMERICAS Corp. was changed to CBC AMERICA HOLDING Corp.
