Position Summary Electrical Engineer to support development of greenfield US steel plant. One-year international assignment followed by a permanent position in Baton Rouge, LA. Electrical Engineer should have strong technical background including knowledge of electrical engineering principles, project management skills and ability to collaborate with a diverse range of professionals. Must have proven leadership experience as Electrical Engineer supporting large capital projects over $1Billion desired. Responsibilities Performs routine to difficult engineering assignments, which require knowledge and skill in basic engineering techniques, procedures, knowledge of applicable industry standards, and instrument engineering standards. Supervises junior design personnel. Assignments are designed to further develop the incumbent's job knowledge and abilities. Prepares man-hour estimates for new projects and changes in design. Checks (and takes the responsibility for) the work of other engineers, designers and drafters. Assures project and company procedures are followed. May utilize information from vendor prints, catalogs, technical manuals, etc. to do engineering work Mentors less experienced engineers. Supervises and furnishes work for engineers, designers and other drafting personnel. Uses time efficiently. Sensitive to schedule requirements. Keeps supervisor informed of progress. Quality assurance for personal work assignments. Visits vendor facilities to inspect equipment for compliance with requirements. Visits jobsites to evaluate site, project requirements, and conditions. Qualifications 15+ years working as an Electrical Engineer in chemical/petrochemical/refinery industry. Experience specifying instruments and running sizing calculations, coordinating with electrical vendors including budgeting and cost estimates. Previous experience with Power Studies using tools such as SKM/ETAP/Arc Flash. Solid understanding and knowledge of Electrical Power Distributions, creating detailed designs and specifications for electrical systems and components. Providing Electrical Technical guidance and support to project teams, including on-site inspections and maintenance of electrical systems. Serve as technical liaison between clients, vendors and internal engineering teams to coordinate project execution. Experience in engineering of mid to large instrument projects. Knowledge of the NEC. Previous experience working for an EPCM Company. Education Requirements BS in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Process). EIT and/or Professional Engineering License is highly preferred.
