Key Responsibilities: -
Magnetoencephalography is a radiology exam for the function of the brain and clinically for the localization of epilepsy.
There are only 30 sites in the US most of which conduct research. We are probably the highest clinical volume site in North America. You will be hard pressed to find anyone with experience in MEG.
The hours for now are being discussed we are using this opportunity to possibly have 10 hour shifts and spread our coverage to cover a full day 8am to 10pm.
We do not currently have weekend coverage but could change at any time. Holidays are only covered for helium fills we do not have patient care MEG is not an emergent study.
The team is a small group, and we need good cohesion.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist I
position works independently to complete a variety of routine MR procedures. This position provides direct assistance to physicians with all diagnostic and special MR procedures.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Performs routine MRI, MRA procedures.
• Optimizes protocols to provide better patient care, image quality and patient experience. This includes positioning, physiology, procedure preparation, and technical factors.
• Assists physicians during diagnostic or special procedures, including assisting with sterile technique.
• Follows all MR safety policy and procedures accordingly.
• Maintains proper sterile techniques for procedures.
• Reports near misses and inputs errors promptly into appropriate hospital patient safety reporting system to improve processes and identify trends.
• Performs weekly imaging equipment quality control (QC) ensuring all imaging equipment is in safe working order prior to use.
• Utilizes critical thinking skills to observe and proactively address patient reactions (i.e. medications) or potential outcomes and obtains assistance, as appropriate.
• Provides accurate and complete documentation of patient procedures. Enters charges at the time service is delivered.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
• Possesses basic computer knowledge; operates multiple computer systems to include, Hospital / Radiology Information Systems and Office software to maintain patient and exam documents.

Key Responsibilities
+ Deploy, commission, and operate TES X-ray microcalorimeter spectrometers at APS beamlines, including cryostat integration, beamline interfaces, alignment, and stability optimization.
+ Perform pathfinding scientific experiments at APS beamlines, which will define the baseline for the usage of the TES X-ray microcalorimeter spectrometers.

+ Document methods and develop user-facing procedures and best practices for reliable operation during user runs; contribute to open-source software and instrument documentation as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities
Deploy, commission, and operate TES X-ray microcalorimeter spectrometers at APS beamlines, including cryostat integration, beamline interfaces, alignment, and stability optimization.
Perform pathfinding scientific experiments at APS beamlines, which will define the baseline for the usage of the TES X-ray microcalorimeter spectrometers.
Collaborate with detector, electronics, and beamline staff to integrate readout and controls (e.g., SQUID-based time- or microwave-multiplexed systems) with beamline data acquisition and control (EPICS/Bluesky).
Develop and maintain data acquisition, calibration, and analysis pipelines, including pulse processing (e.g., optimal filtering), pileup mitigation, drift correction, and energy-scale stability.
Design, propose, and execute high-impact in-house spectroscopy experiments (e.g., XES, XANES/EXAFS, resonant/non-resonant scattering).
Diagnose and mitigate performance limiters (e.g., vibration, magnetic fields, microphonics, thermal loading, stray light), and contribute to detector/system modeling and optimization for count rate, resolution, and throughput.
Document methods and develop user-facing procedures and best practices for reliable operation during user runs; contribute to open-source software and instrument documentation as appropriate.
Publish scientific and technical results in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences; engage with the broader cryogenic-detector and synchrotron communities.
