Position Summary
Serves as a project manager for capital and expense projects of all sizes using the AmSty Project Delivery Work Process. This position also provides technical support to the Production and Maintenance Departments. Responsibilities
Develop and implement projects which improve the profitability, operability, reliability, safety, and environmental performance of the St. James Plant in accordance with Business Plan and Plant Specific objectives.
Plan and lead the efforts of the project team through the development and execution of projects.
Develop the scope of projects, evaluating options, and obtaining management approval.
Obtain funding for the projects.
Opens, manages and closes projects in SAP and periodically reports status to management.
Reporting progress and forecasting costs on a regular basis.
Prepare bid specifications, evaluate bids, and select engineering and construction contractors.
Monitor / manage the design and construction of projects to ensure that they are engineered and built according to key project plans and company standards.
Monitor / control the cost & timing of projects to keep expenditures and schedules within the limits authorized by management.
Manage the start-up of projects and project closure activities in a safe and timely manner so that the project benefits can be fully realized.
Provide turnaround support, troubleshooting and engineering analysis.
Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is preferred.
10+ years' experience in a chemical processing or refinery environment.
