Work Environment
The employee will be expected to work outside in all weather conditions and must have suitable clothing. They must have the ability and willingness to work in adverse conditions, not just including extreme weather but enclosed spaces and heights up to 80 feet. The employee will be expected to work around and with machinery that distributes loud noises and exhaust. Personal Protective gear is provided by the employer. This position does require handling and operating of heavy equipment which may introduce a high risk to slips, trips and falls.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Company drivers are required to sit and steer for long periods of time while having the ability to coordinate several parts of the body, such as arms and legs, while operating a commercial truck. A driver will be expected to operate forklifts used for loading and unloading sod and other farm and retail products. Drivers must be able to get in and out of their trucks multiple times throughout the day as well as on and off forklifts multiple times each day using three-point contact. Must have adequate leg, foot, arm and hand control to climb into cab, operate foot controls and safely navigate vehicle through traffic and weather.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., though actual days and hours may vary at the discretion of the Regional Driver Manager or Logistics Director.
During the harvesting season (typically March through September):
Saturday work may be required, usually from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Weekly hours increase, averaging 55-60 hours per week instead of the standard 40.
Part-time roles may be considered and are subject to discussion and agreement between the driver and manager.
Travel
Travel is primarily regional interstate hauling during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and evening travel may be expected.
Required Education and Experience
Applicants must be at least 23 years of age to be considered.
2+ years proven experience in commercial truck driving required.
Clean driving record with no major or excessive violations within previous 3 years
Must possess valid Class A CDL and Medical Card, including muti-state certification status.
Must pass background check and drug test.
Skilled at driving and parking large, heavy vehicles.

Essential Functions:

The Technical Training Specialist conducts training programs for Class A students as assigned by the leadership team. Prepares students for the state CDL exam. Will facilitate coursework and behind the wheel training as required via the DOT and/or state regulators.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Leads the overall CDL certification program for students at Superior Pipeline Services
Facilitates the required classroom training for students seeking the CDL licensing.
Facilitates and manages the behind the wheel portion of the training program.
Prepares and maintains facilitator materials as needed, session plans, visual aids, and handouts for training sessions.
Ensures DOT compliance using Driver Qualification software and the Clearing House Registry.
Responsible for sending CDL List to audit employees in UKG.
Assists the Safety Manager in ordering safety supplies.
Coordinates with supervisors for the selection of students and communication of course completion
Conducts driving evaluations in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Schedules and provides Driver Qualification training for new hires, and current employees on an as-needed basis.
Track all Driver's Qualifications using a 3rd party database.
Coordinates with supervisors and employees to ensure that required field training is implemented.
Coordinates with the Safety Manager to design and execute the behind the wheel portion of the certification program.
Maintain all DQ Files.
Communicates and represents the organization to clients, the public, government, and other external sources as needed.
Conducts knowledge and performance post training field evaluations as needed.
Maintains up to date knowledge of best practices, standards, guidelines, technology, and equipment.
May be required to travel between Organizations to facilitate in class and behind the wheel training.
Attends Roadside Violation and other Vehicle Post Incident reviews.
Performs corrective driver re-training and road tests.
Success Factors:
Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions.
Skilled at developing and maintaining good working relationships with employees and Front-Line Supervisors.
Experience in the utility construction industry is preferred.
Communicates well with students, other instructors, and supervisors.
Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-workers.
Ability to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policy.
Basic Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Excel, ect)
Ability to conduct training protocols by description based on safety, quality, and health programs, procedures, and practices consistent with OSHA, DOT, insurance carriers, and customer requirements.
Willingness and ability to learn additional skills and keep up to date on regulations and certification requirements.
Can work in a fast-paced environment to complete tasks and assigned projects
Can work extra hours as required to meet deadlines.
Willingness and ability to learn additional skills Experience and Education:
High school diploma or equivalent desired
Completion of the CDL instructor's course with 2 years minimum behind the wheel CDL Experience.
Valid CDL license
Two (2+) plus years' experience as a Technical Trainer is preferred but not required
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
Advanced FMCSA regulation understanding
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-to-year basis.
Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver's License is required within two weeks of employment.
Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Pay- Start pay .55cpm - .58cpm. Paid loaded or empty on practical miles. Detention, layover, and additional compensation pay determined by individual load and driver hours. Raises & Bonuses, 2600-3200 weekly average. Paid weekly by direct deposit. Work this week get paid the next. No hold.
Home Time- Drivers get home for 2 full days off after working 12-14 days in our running area. Some areas drivers get additional drive through. Drivers in outlying areas may stay out longer. Reefer trailers (Climate controlled loads, No slaughterhouses, No fresh meat). Most loads are in the middle corridor of the US. No NY City, No force dispatch west of Denver CO. No ports or borders. We transport goods on major highways whenever possible. Mostly contracted freight. Drivers run a combination of dry vans and reefer loads. No dedicated routes. Pilot/Flying J fueling points.
