Responsibilities
As a Transport Driver you will drive a tanker truck (11,400 gallon capacity) to pick up propane at the supply point (e.g. refinery, pipeline terminal, storage facility) and deliver it to area AmeriGas facilities. The driver will make four to five pick-ups and deliveries per day, driving an average of 500 miles per day and working up to 14 hours per day. Approximately 80 percent of the driver's time is spent driving or waiting in line at the supply point. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Drive the tanker truck to pick up propane at the refinery and deliver to area AmeriGas facilities; approximately 45 minutes is required to load or unload the truck.
Attach terminal hoses to the truck connections to pump propane into the tanker
Use permanent hoses attached to the filling ports or the hoses stored in the truck to unload the tanker. The hoses stored on the truck come in two sizes: 20 feet long, three inches in diameter; and 19 feet long, 1½ inches in diameter
Perform twice-daily truck inspections
May climb ladders at some AmeriGas facilities to check gauges at the top of the bulk tanks.
Requirements
3 Years' tractor and trailer experience with a minimum of 200,000 miles
1 year of tanker experience within the last 3 years, preferred
Hazmat and tanker endorsements
Eligible for a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC)

If you just finished trucking school, many companies have probably turned you down because you do not have any driving experience. We won't. We will train you. As long as you have your Class A CDL and no driving experience, we can help you complete your 200-300 hours of training, so that you can go right into a FT position as a solo driver. We are looking for recent trucking school grads or anyone who currently has their Class A CDL, but no driving experience. Here is what to expect with our app and hiring process, as well as the job details:
· Once we receive your inquiry, we will contact you to schedule a phone interview to pre-qualify you. Once we determine that you qualify, we will then review all of the job details with you and move you forward to the application process.
· Following this, we will help you fill out our short form via phone. We will then email you a link to complete your full app. Our processor will then reach out to you regarding your approval.
· Once you are approved, you will be scheduled for a 1 day paid driver orientation. Lunch will be catered in. You will also be sent some simple pre-orientation tasks to complete. Our medical team will also reach out to you to complete a drug test in your area.
· Upon successful completion of orientation, you will officially be hired and go out with a mentor driver for about 4 weeks. This will give you all of your required behind the wheel training hours. You will be paid $650 a week SALARY during this time.
· Following the completion of your training, you will come home for 2-5 days and then meet with a fleet manager. You will then become a solo driver and move into a FT position. Your pay will increase to $1,100+ per week (depending on the run) We also have a weekly minimum pay guarantee for the first 90 days. Home times will also vary depending on the run. Our Dedicated OTR for new drivers will keep you out for about 3 weeks and you will be home for 3 days back to back. 3000 MPW. PLEASE NOTE: THIS WILL NOT BE A LOCAL DRIVING POSITION. We pay BOTH loaded miles and empty miles. Our runs are also drop and hook no touch freight.
Our trucks are newer well-maintained Freightliners, Kenworths and Internationals (mostly autos) with TV mounts, refrigerators, hook-ups and new mattresses.
