Medical Equipment Technician Medical Equipment Technicians are responsible for ensuring safe delivery, providing setup, and education in usage of home medical equipment for our customers. The Gurney Van Driver will operate a gurney van equipped to provide nonemergency transport of mobility- impaired individuals to and from hospitals, convalescent facilities, private homes, dialysis units, doctor's offices, rehabilitation centers, etc. in a safe and timely manner. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Picks up patients at home or other facility. Provides the assistance required to safely board patients and caregivers. • Operates Stryker gurney as needed for safe and comfortable patient transportation. • On arrival at medical facility, assists patients in exiting the van and reaching the proper offices or treatment areas. • Checks the van to ensure that no personal items are left behind. • Provides first-aid or CPR if required during patient transport. As a Driver, duties include transporting goods to routes in a commercial vehicle, making deliveries and pickups to and from school sites and warehouses, and communicating with management team and dispatchers. PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES: · Safely operate a Commercial vehicle. · Load and unload cargo. · Read locations and road maps. · Basic truck maintenance. · Inspect vehicles for mechanical and safety issues before and after each trip. · Meet delivery schedules while maintaining safe work practices. · Properly track and document driving logs on an ELD. · Report any issues or incidents to dispatch. · Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries. · Other duties as requested.
