Job Responsibilities
+ Perform safe and legal operation of commercial motor vehicles.
+ Load and unload trailers and move freight across the terminal dock, either individually or with assistance of co-worker, with or without mechanical freight handling equipment, as required.
+ Record quantity and type of shipments using bills of lading, delivery receipts and tally sheets.
+ Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations.
+ Develop and maintain professional and effective relations between our company and our customers.

Summary

This position reports to the Manager - Warehouse. Driver - Class “B” is responsible for making daily deliveries of Company product to customers using Company-provided vehicle. This position is also responsible for operating and maintaining a Company “pump truck”, to deliver bulk oil and/or other merchandise to customers, conduct pre and post-trip inspections, maintain a daily travel log, and handle shipping papers and invoices.
Primary Job Functions
The primary job functions include, but are not limited to:
- Transporting bulk oil and miscellaneous stock via the “pump truck”
- Performing pre trip and post trip inspections which include checking gasoline, oil, water, and tires, and fills as required.
- Record any malfunctions of equipment on the Inspection Sheet which is reviewed by the supervisor and Safety Manager
- Loading and unloading trucks both manually and using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks
- Maintain daily log sheets which includes entering miles and times at each stop
- Maintain delivery , truck and driving records by obtaining receipt acknowledgements, recording tracking information, completing driver log and truck performance forms
- Operates the multi-tank system on the trucks
- Responsible for following safety measures while filling customer tanks
- Possess the ability to handle money from customers and be able to make change if necessary
- Present a good image of the company through proper dress and attitude. Maintains safe operation and clean appearance by complying with organizational policy, procedure, and standards, as well as state and local and DOT driving rules and regulations
- Responsible for maintaining a clean vehicle, both on the exterior and the interior
- Maintain a satisfactory attendance record
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, work stations, and shipping supply areas neat in the warehouse
- Complying with all OSHA and company safety procedures, rules, and regulations

The skill requirements include, but are not limited to:
- Must be able to drive both automatic and manual transmission
- Courteous treatment of and assistance to customers
- High degree of attention required to prevent injury and damage to self and others when operating a company vehicle
- Must be able to follow oral and written instructions
- Must have basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- Work involves continual walking, lifting, carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping and crouching
