Medical Equipment Technician
Medical Equipment Technicians are responsible for ensuring safe delivery, providing setup, and education in usage of home medical equipment for our customers. Setup is done in their home, long-term care setting, clinic or any location deemed necessary to service patients.
Job Duties:
Develop and maintain working knowledge of current HME products and services offered by the company and all
applicable governmental regulations.
Comply with all applicable company policies and procedures.
Educate customers in proper use and care of respiratory and HME equipment in a home setting.

POSITION SUMMARY:
To serve our customers by safely and efficiently transporting product from the warehouse by driving a tractor trailer to various customers and properly delivering and unloading product according to customer invoices and company standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safely transports product from the warehouse to the customer location and ensures product is delivered on a timely basis, according to assigned route.
Unloads product from trailer, by hand or using hand cart down ramps, stairs, or docks, in all weather conditions and places in designated customer storage areas according to customer specifications and company standards (e.g. handling product according to preferred work methods, scanning product as it is delivered into the store).
Picks up, loads and unloads damaged goods and customer returns, and transports products back to SYGMA warehouse.
Ensures all paperwork is completed according to established company and governmental guidelines (e.g. DOT electronic or manual logs, inspections, company vehicle maintenance reports and pre and post-trip reports are completed accurately and submitted on a timely basis, ensures all invoices are accurate and turned in daily and all damages and shortages are reported promptly).

Maintains and safely operates all assigned equipment, including but not limited to hand cart, pallets, load bars, SLS unit, and personal protective equipment.

DEFINITION Under general supervision, operates buses and vans providing scheduled, special and dial-a-ride transportation services for the public; provides customer service and presents a positive image of the El Monte Transportation Division to the public; picks up and delivers transit passengers; assists disabled passengers in boarding and disembarking vehicles; inspects vehicles and equipment for safe operating conditions; and performs related duties as assigned.

CLASS CHARACTERISTICS
This journey level classification is responsible for independently performing the full range of transportation vehicle operations, customer service and safety related duties in support of the El Monte Transportation Division. Positions at this level exercise judgment and initiative in their assigned tasks, receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. This class is distinguished from Senior Transportation Driver in that the latter is responsible for technical and functional supervision of lower-level staff and is capable of performing the most complex duties assigned to the division.

Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:

Education:
Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade.
Experience:
Two (2) years (24) months experience within the last five (5) years in the safe operation of a transit, paratransit, recreation or school bus.
The minimum age for employees in this classification is twenty-one (21) years.
Licenses and Certifications:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must possess mobility to work in a predominantly vehicle driving/operation environment; to operate a motor vehicle and drive on highways, surface streets and city roads in light to heavy traffic conditions; strength, stamina, and mobility to perform medium to heavy physical work; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone or radio. Vehicle operation visual requirements include near and distance, color vision, night vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The job involves sitting for long periods of time while operating vehicles, and walking on multiple types of surfaces to inspect vehicles and assist passengers. Finger dexterity, reaching with hands and arms, and using leg/foot to reach or handle vehicle controls and lifting devices to operate assigned equipment is needed. POSITION OVERVIEW
The CDL Class "A" Driver is charged with professionally transporting and test driving customer vehicles for the Service Department or delivering a truck in or out of state as directed by the Sales Department.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver customer's vehicles when service department has completed repairs.
Must be able to operate all commercial motor vehicles (including tractors, straight trucks, roll-offs, trash trucks, school buses, and pull all styles of trailers) safely and efficiently.
Perform test drives on customer vehicles. Must be able to drive the requested desired mileage (15,35,50,100 miles).
Plan routes for desired mileage, navigate various road conditions.
Perform Quality Control inspections on vehicles following repairs (mechanical knowledge a plus).
Perform pre-trip & post-trip vehicle inspections with foremen, reporting any defects or concerns to the foremen.
Keep the service lot neat and orderly, including arranging vehicles, fueling, and ensuring that vehicles are locked throughout the week.
During shift downtime, CDL driver to remain available for his entire shift (by helping in the shop and in other areas such as empty trash cans, sweep floors, and arrange the lot as needed.

SUPERVISION Receives direct supervision from a Resource Recovery and Recycling Supervisor and/or designee who makes detailed work assignments, frequently reviews work in progress, and evaluates assigned tasks and work. Representative Duties
Responds to work order assignments to pick up bulky and large trash items from residential and commercial customers.

Operates a variety of refuse collection equipment such as stake bed trucks and bin trucks in the collection of commercial and residential refuse.

Responds to reports of damaged refuse and recycling containers and performs repairs using a variety of hand tools. Responds to calls on two-way radio.
