JOB DESCRIPTION Title: Local Linehaul Driver Reports to: Director of National Logistics/Logistics Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Fortune East is seeking a Local Linehaul Driver to join our team. You will drive a predetermined delivery route, which allows for a nine to five schedule. While you will work one or two overnights a week, this route is ideal for someone with OTR trucking experience who wants to get home at night and on weekends. Depending on your assigned route, you will be responsible for either live load or drop and hook trailers. Applicants must have a Class A CDL. Doubles endorsement is preferred, and we expect you to earn HAZMAT and tanker endorsements upon hire. Responsibilities Drive predetermined delivery route. Make deliveries on schedule. Inspect the vehicle for maintenance issues. Maintain truck log. Communicate with the dispatcher and other drivers. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements: Must be 21 years or older. High school diploma or GED with at least three years of experience in logistics management or a related role. Class A CDL and clean driving record. The Class A Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently delivering products to local and out-of-state stores. The driver delivers and returns products, assists with loading and unloading, and performs yard work as needed, while frequently interacting with internal departments to ensure smooth operations. Responsibilities: Operate equipment in a safe manner following DOT regulations and company policies and regulations. Inspect loads for safe transportation. Drive commercial vehicles to pick up and transport goods to a designated location safely while meeting scheduled appointments and following all DOT regulations. Ensure placarding of the vehicle meets DOT regulations. Maintain paperwork including expense reports, timesheets, vehicle inspection reports, manifests, and job sheets. Inspect equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water. Secure cargo prior to and during transit. Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered or recommended. Operates loading, storing, and securement devices such as pallet jacks, forklifts, power pallet jacks/riders, and moving-related equipment such as dollies and lift levers to load and unload supplies, freight, foods, material, equipment, and mail. Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times. Perform other duties as assigned by managers. Qualifications: Must have Class A Driver License without restrictions and limitations, including a current DOT Medical cert. Ability to pass a road test. At least 3 year satisfactory driving record as obtained from the FMCSA 2-3 years of driver experience in warehouse/ logistics/ shipping. Experience in handling product barcodes preferred. Experience in hauling reefer trailers is preferred. Experience in pallet jack and forklift is preferred. Lifting items with 25 lbs. or more. Standing for a long period of time, including bending and kneeling regularly. Available to work on weekends, holidays or rotating schedules. Must possess the ability to read, understand and communicate verbally in English. Bilingual in English &Chinese preferred. Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. White Glove Delivery Service: Placement: Carefully position products in customer-specified areas, which may involve navigating through tight spaces or into basements/cellars. Staging: Arrange products for immediate use or display according to customer needs. Customer Service: Uphold exceptional service standards, addressing customer queries or issues with professionalism. Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, ensuring all components are in working order. Notify leadership of any damage or issues with the vehicle or equipment discovered during these inspections to prevent operational delays or safety hazards. Documentation: Maintain accurate DOT logs to comply with hours of service regulations, recording all driving activities, breaks, and rest periods. Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Must possess a Class A valid driver's license and valid DOT Medical Card • 2+ years of verifiable experience preferred. • Must possess and maintain a good driving record. • Must be 25 years of age or older. • Ability to repeatedly lift up to 80 pounds in order to unload trucks at multiple locations. • Physical capability of pulling and pushing handcarts in excess of 200 pounds. • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills to maintain accurate records of deliveries. • High school diploma or equivalent.
